*Elijah's POV*

I finally got everything at the hospital sorted out as Niklaus sat with Finlay whilst Rebekah paced. I wasn't sure if my beloved would ever be the same again.

"Haven't you got a date to get ready for?" I asked her trying to get some normalcy back into our lives.

"I can't go now. I need to be here for Fin," Rebekah still had tears flowing.

"I would suggest you call Clark & explain what has happened. I think he is still waiting for Finlay to call him as she said she would but I don't think she is in any position or in her right mind to do so," I suggested giving her a hug.

"I'll do that now," she pulled the phone from her pocket.

"No, you go on that date. I'm sure grandma would have hated to know that you put your life on hold because of her," Finlay spoke for the first time in hours.

Her voice was unrecognisable; it was monotone, like when you've been compelled. I looked at Niklaus who just threw his hands up in defence.

"But I want to be here for you. That's what best friends are for," Rebekah knelt in front of her.

"As my best friend, I want you to go on this amazing date that Clark has worked hard to plan for you. I know he would understand the reasoning behind why you want to bail on him but I want you to go & that's my wishes," Finlay was still slumped against Niklaus.

Rebekah looked torn & then to me mouthing, 'what do I do?'

I shrugged my shoulders because I too had no idea what to do in this situation. Our family had caused thousands of deaths throughout the years but we had never been involved with someone that lost a loved one from natural causes.

"Rebekah if you don't go on this date I will never speak to you again," Finlay was still unmoving.

"Ok, fine but I'll be home tonight after dinner," she hugged her friend.

"Good, now move before you're late," Finlay half heartedly hugged her back.

After Rebekah finally left, the three of us stayed where we were. I was uncertain what to suggest.

"I think we better head home," Finlay got up & walked towards the entrance of the building.

Niklaus looked at me, he was still heartbroken by Elizabeth's departure, "We best be keeping a very close watch on her. She's unstable & who knows what she may do?"

"Yes, I know & I'm quite aware what she is capable of. We will meet you at home," I said tapping my brother on the shoulder & walking out after Finlay.

I exited the building & looked over at my car, there was no sign of Finlay anywhere. It was like she disappeared into thin air. Niklaus was soon beside me scanning the area where I had just done so.

"Where did she go?" he asked.

"Do you think if I knew I would be standing here looking like a complete fool? Get your car & drive around to see if you can find her. Call me if you do, otherwise me meet back at the house in two hours," I approached my car & got in.

I inhaled just to calm my already panicked self. All I could smell was her. Why would she just take off & not tell anyone or me. The memory of earlier when she had hatred in her eyes that was engaged directly at me. That moment terrified me that I was losing her. No, that I had lost her there & then. Where could she be? She grew up here so she knew this place better than even I.
