Day after day, Tokagawa would meet the girl, Akira could see their feelings for eachother growing, but she couldn't do anything, no matter how hard she tried, Tokagawa didn't see her any differently
She felt something squeezing her heart, it was difficult to breath.. What kind of feeling was that? She didn't want to feel this way..
If only he hadn't met that girl, curse his princely duties..
She had found out they were discussing some kind of mission they had to do together, the head priestess had nominated this girl for it, and he had his orders to do the same
What was supposed to be work, became so much more for the two of them
Nagisa still tried to get Akira to warm up to her, but she wouldn't succeed. She seemed fascinated by Akira. It was only natural, Akira was a mystical being, and that girl was a priestess
She heard her ask Tokagawa about how she became his protector, and the prince giving her a brief version of her being bound by his ancestors
It was like rubbing salt into a wound. She knew it was inevitable that the girl would ask, her kind were rare creatures, and mystical beings in general, didn't make it a habit to associate with a particular human or clan, a lot would protect a certain area, but not a certain person, but it still annoyed her, the way she came into this position, even after all these years
Akira heard her say that what they did was a bad thing, and they should've handled things differently
She was surprised the human girl stood by her, even though she wasn't even nice to her
Then the girl proceeded to tell the prince about her protector, a water dragon, and how he had volunteered himself to protect the young priestess
That caught her attention, she thought he was being soft and unproud, but at the same time, she'd wished she was given the same chance, for someone like Tokagawa, she would volunteer to protect him anytime.. She begrudgingly acknowledged she could understand the dragon's point of view
Tokagawa was excited about Nagisa's dragon protector, any mystical being was a big deal, but a dragon especially volunteering to protect a human, was really something
Akira was curious herself to see the one who would do that, but she wouldn't admit it to the others
Nagisa had promissed to try and get him to come with her on their next meeting
Akira was torn between being excited and wanting to avoid the meeting
Since she was bound, she hadn't met any "friendly" mystical beings
Most were ones attacking the emperial family that she had to get rid of, and the ones that were able to exchange a few words, had laughed at her and mocked her for the situation she was in. It was a natural reaction..
The day came, and Akira went with Tokagawa to meet Nagisa's dragon
They saw the dragon hovering over Nagisa, in all his glory, his long, scaly, serpentine figure, a shimmering blue. He looked like he was made of water and his eyes were deep blue, the color of deep oceans
He was flying in an elaborate way, Akira thought he was showing off. She rolled her eyes..
Once they reached them, the dragon landed fast, abruptly, like he was going to crash, and in a flash of bluish light, just as he reached the ground, he changed into his human form
He had long white hair, and deep blue eyes, his human form was very handsome. He was wearing blue clothes
Akira herself, always wore fiery colored garments, ranging from yellow, orange to red. Her hair flowed long and straight, to the small of her back, black as charcoal, her eyes a deep red
He saw her appraising him, and he smiled
She averted her gaze, ignoring him, which only added to his mirth
Nagisa introduced them: Your highness, this is my friend Kai. Kai, this is his highness prince Tokagawa, and his friend and protector, Akira
Kai nodded at Tokagawa, smiling: It's nice to meet you, your highness
He then looked at Akira: Akira.. It's good to see you again
Nagisa: Do you know eachother?
