Lady Maron was saying goodbye to her son, Kai looked both happy, and dreading something, she smiled at him knowningly: What worries you, my son?

Tokagawa: Akira.. She was still rude to both Nagisa and her protector, which is a mystical being as well. I'm starting to think she doesn't like anyone, besides us. Who knows what's going to happen on this trip?

Maron: I believe you said he was a water dragon, maybe the two races don't get along

Tokagawa: He did say they've never gotten along before,but he was trying, as far as I could tell, he was nothing but nice

Maron: So they've known eachother.. Has it occured to you that they might have been both different people before. It was centuries since they met, and if you haven't forgotten, her situation might have brought ridicule to her from her peers, so seeing one of them, after all that time, her being rude as you said, might be her defence mechanism against being hurt

He was silently contemplating what she said, then he commented: You seem to understand her very well, dear mother, how is this so, is it only your great wisdom?

He smiled teasingly, and she laughed: You forget, that even though she's a mystical being, she's still a woman, therefor I have a bit of insight on what she might be feeling, another thing is, in terms of her kind, she's young, just like you

He was having a hard time wrapping his mind around this fact, she was centuries old after all

Maron: Centuries for us, are just years for her. Be patient with her, if they want her to be nice, they will have to gain her trust

He smiled at his mother

Now it was time for Lady Maron to say goodbye to Akira

She was out, flexing her wings around the palace

So Tokagawa called to her, being bound to him, she would always hear his call. She found herself not wanting to return just yet, she knew he wasn't in danger, but she guessed her being obstinate wouldn't help her case, so she returned,morphing back into her human form

She was faced with both Maron and Tokagawa

Tokagawa: Welcome back, mother wants to say goodbye to you, I'll leave you two to it

He bowed to his mother and left

Akira stared at him longingly, and Maron felt sad for her, her heart was certainly going to get broken..

Maron: Akira

Akira turned towards her: Lady Maron, she smiled and bowed to her

She was the only human Akira would treat with so much respect, Maron knew that, and felt gratified, but she still didn't like such formalities, and from one she considered a friend, at that

Maron: How many times do I have to tell you? Just Maron would do

Akira: You are the only one that commands respect from me, and I like treating you as such

Maron shook her head at her, smiling: Ever the headstrong girl

Her face sobered a bit: How are you doing?

Akira forced a smile: I'm fine..

Maron sighed and smiled ruefully at her

Akira laughed: You are very perceptive, I wonder how Tokagawa can be so dense. Maybe he gets it from his father's side

Maron ignored the jab at her husband's family, it was well deserved: He's still young, and sometimes people are not that perceptive when it comes to themselves

Akira sighed: It could have been better, but I'm alright

Maron reached for her hands, and grasped them within her own, squeezing them: It's going to be fine, child. Just give it time

Akira smiled sadly at her: It always makes me want to laugh whenever you call me that

Maron huffed: Well, you are young, for being a mystical being, if I was like you, I'd have been thousands of years old, maybe more

Akira laughed, and Maron smiled at her affectionately: You take care of yourself

She replied: You too, sometimes being within these walls is just as dangerous as being around supernatural feinds

Maron laughed: That's unfortunately true

The ladies of the court were sometimes cruel and conniving

Maron: I'm going to miss you two, comeback to me safe

Akira: I will make sure we do
