Chapter Thirteen: The Kiss

         It was already midnight when we all decided to go back to the reality. I could see that they all got blitzed because of what we drunk. I don't know why the drinks did not hit me. I even drunk more than the others did but I never felt dizzy. I just felt normal and comfortable maybe because it's a bonus feature of my ability. Radar was the one to suggest that we must go back to our rooms because we have class on LCM tomorrow.

We managed to go downstairs, I mean I managed them to go downstairs. I guessed that they all lose their balance because of being drunk. I could laugh staring at them. I am the one who kept and maintained their balance. Eva and Oil are holding each others arms while Radar and Paul are holding my shoulder. Froye was walking alone with a bottle on his right hand while screaming the words

"Everybody wanna get drunk!"

Everybody laughed and danced until we managed to go outside of Alex. These guys are worst when drunk. I can't stop myself from laughing. I thought of making Radar dance naked or making Froye shout a lot of nasty words aside from his decent looks but I'm not that kind of friend.

"Goodbye Alex!" Froye shouted with the others in chorus. I'm afraid we'll awake some guards or worst some pedagogues so I let them shut up and walk straight. We passed through the cafeteria and thanks God, there are no more guards lurking. Froye and the others waved goodbye leaving Radar and I. Radar told them to be careful and they all said that they can handle themselves. Soon as I watched the others went inside their rooms, Radar and I walked slowly but surely towards our room.

When I opened the door, Radar said that he's feeling a bit of nausea so I guided him towards his bed but suddenly he vomits right in my face.

"WTF! Why me Radar?! Why on my face?!" I shouted with disgust. Radar fall asleep deeply and I could see that he is very tired. I went to the shower to take a bath, I could smell the stink of Radar's vomit right in my face.

After I showered, I went lying on my bed. I couldn't sleep so I went on thinking about the things that happened to me. I thought about my parents, "Did my dad stop drinking? Who is now closing the store?". I thought about how funny my friends were and that being here in the Dome is not that bad.

Suddenly, there's a loud boom in our window. Someone is throwing something in our window! I immediately opened the window and boom! The thing is on my face.

"What did my face do to all of you?!" I thought. It's cold, it's a snowball. Someone s throwing a snowball yet it is not winter. I looked down and saw a girl waving a peace sign on her right hand. She wants me to go down.

It's Jane, thoughts are running on my mind now. What does she want from me? Why did she did this? I felt scared, I don't know why. Maybe because of the fact that she is an Upper Class. Even though I was afraid,
there's something dragging me to go down and talk to her so I did.

"I guessed I woke you up Jack," she said that while looking at my boxers.

What the f! I forgot I was on my boxers right now. I can't speak, this is so louche. I was standing in front of a beautiful lady with white shirt and a boxers only.

"I'm gonna change, I will come back," I said.

"No, it's okay. Follow me," she said and started sprinting. The moment I spoke with Jane is the moment I realized that I have disobeyed the rules but who cares? As I said I wanted to get to know this Jane more. I don't know what she wants from me. I was confused. Thoughts are running again on my mind. I kept on following her and kept on asking where are we going but she kept on shooshing me. We passed through the dormitory buildings, the amphitheatre, classrooms, and offices until we stopped in an open area that is full of statues.

The place looked like a park for me. We sat on a small bench that is good for two persons. We are so close from each other I could smell her.

"What is this place?" I asked to broke the awkwardness.

"This is the Exertion Chamber," Jane said.

"I never knew about this place," I said.

"It's because you Lower Classes are not allowed in here. But don't worry there are no eyes in here," she said softly.

I walk my eyes around and saw that the area looks like a room because of it's glass wall. I also noticed some exercise equipments and other utilities. It looked like a huge gym with monument s actually.

"You Lower Classes cannot see this room because it is invisible for all of you. This chamber is scientifically engineered so that Lower Class eyes cannot see it. This place is a secret between the pedagogues and us, Upper Classes, This is where we enhance and exercise our abilities," Jane said.

"If I am not allowed in here, then why are we here? What do you want from me?" I asked.

"I saw you and your friends. What're you guys doing in the woods?" she asked while staring me in the eyes.

I suddenly felt nervous, I felt the coldness of the place. "We are just chilling," I said while looking for a place I could put my eyes on.

"Please be honest Jack! Tell me," she said raising her voice.

"As I said, we are just hanging out there," I insisted.

"I guess you don't trust me anymore, Jack. I'm sorry that I left you," she muttered with teary eyes. What is this girl saying? Suddenly, she kissed me. I was shocked. I felt warm and cozy with her kiss and then a memory flashes back.

I was 11 years old when I met a girl in the neighborhood. She lost her mother already. Her father is overprotective of her. One time she went into the woods and got lost there.

"Stop crying, I will bring you back home," I said when I saw her. She hugged me and there we became friends. Everyday, we see each other in the woods and play there. I could feel that I love her even though I was a kid. That girl was Jane and one day she left.

I pulled away my lips from her.

"Why did you left me Jane?" I asked.

"I left because I needed to, Jack. Remember the frozen pond in our place back ago? I did it and someone saw me. It was summer but I accidentally made the pond frozen, Jack. My dad was so scared, he was afraid that the town folks will kill me, that's why we left, Jack," she narrated while sobbing.

I hugged her tightly. Now I know why she's very familiar and why in the first place I knew I love her.
