Chapter Seventeen: Ears Are Also Eyes

         Things happen so fast. I remember we were in another world. We entered a portal and had party. We had so much fun like we don't want to go home but suddenly a boy dragged me and all of my friends. Now we went through the wild crowd and hide in a certain place, looks like we are at the backstage of the DJ where it is dark and cold. I heard the boy said that we are not safe here.

Suddenly, the party was stopped because there are guards who entered the portal. They went on searching for something and I know it is us.

"Secure the area, There are Lower Class here. Show yourselves!" one of the guards commanded shrilly.

I felt chills on my neck. The nervous I felt before got doubled. The boy who dragged us saved us. Bona fide, we're not safe in here. Why did this boy saved us? Is he a confidante or an adversary, friend or foe? I scanned the boy's face, he looked familiar. He was the chubby boy, my seatmate on the bus. The boy who ignored me, the boy who didn't notice me. An Upper Class student.

"Jack! Let's go get out of here!" the chubby boy said.

We ran on the side where the crowd clang while waiting for the party to continue. Luckily, we entered the portal that brought us back to the Dome and the guards didn't notice us. Now, I am freaking out. Why did this boy knew my name?! I want to ask him but before I could talk, Froye ran into the woods, I knew he was going to Alex and we all followed. I could see the faces of my friends, scared and confused of what's happening.

When we arrived at Alex, Radar shoved me and whispered, "Who is he? Why did he know your name?" I shook my head to him I don't know also.

"I didn't hear them anymore, you are now safe," the chubby boy said.

"Who are you?" Eva managed to ask.

"My name is Billy, Billy Richards," he retorted.

"How did you knew that we are being followed?" Froye asked.

"I have enhanced hearing, I knew that they were coming because I heard them," Billy said.

They grilled more questions on him so things would settle down. Why did he saved us? What is his purpose? Why did he know my name? Is he a friend or a for?

"I knew who you are since I met you in the bus Jack. I heard you introduces your name, I just didn't mind you but since I met you, I keep hearing you and I didn't know why. I knew your friends also," Billy said.

He continued talking about himself and then he proved to everyone that he knows all of them. He said that Froye is a richkid that doesn't know how to use his money, Eva is a flirty girl who continuously making dudes fall for her but doesn't know what true love is, Radar is a WiFi man but doesn't know he could be stronger, Paul is a color changing changing guys who falls for an oily girl. Oil, the girl who produces oil, the reason why she have oily face. I don't like this guy. He is very full of himself. I thought everybody will kill him about what he was saying but they didn't.

"Wow, you're incredibly powerful," Oil complemented.

"I know, that's why I'm on Upper Class," Billy replied proudly.

"Why are you doing this? Why did you saved us? What's your purpose?" I grilled at him because of annoyance.

"I saved you, or should I say we saved you because we are asked to do it," he said.

"By who?" asked Radar.

"By her," he said while pointing the door. I felt nervous. I'm scared of who will come inside. The door knob moves. I knew it, it is Madame Gomez. We are now doomed.   The nightmare is now happening. I felt my heart beating on my chest. The door opened and someone came in.

"Jane?!" I said confusedly.

"Thank God you're all safe Jack." She said.

My friends gave me the who-is-she-and-what-is-really-happening-jack? face. Jane hugged me. I don't know what's happening and I don't know how to explain this to my friends. Jane is really mysterious.

"Jack? What's happening?" Eva blurted.

I stayed silent, blank of what to respond.

"I am Jane Pole, this is my cousin Billy," Jane introduced.

"Things are really getting weirder, why did you know her Jack?" Oil said freaking out.

I could see their disappointed faces because of the fact that I lied to them.

"I can explain," I said formally. "Jane is my friend outside. We got separated when we were young and now I met her here. This is the right moment for you to know her. I'm very sorry, I hid things from all of you," I explained.

"You have a very cozy place here," Billy said to break the awkward silence.

I broke some rules, we are not intended to break the rules but I did.

"We are here to tell you something," Jane said.

"There is something wrong in this system, the school system. You Lower Classes are not safe here and also us, we are not safe in here. One time, I heard Madame Gomez said that she'll get rid of useless junks like the Lower Classes. She wanted to kill all of you. She said you all ruined the balance of nature in the world but Mr. Kruegre disagree with her. He saw a chance in you that is why he made the LCM. Madame Gomez didn't like this. I'm afraid she's finding more ways to get rid of you," Billy said.

I don't know what to respond. The whole thing is creeping me out. Looks like the whole world is against us.

"Then we have to get out of here!" Radar exclaimed.

"Getting out of here is not that easy, the whole campus is walled by a forcefield," Jane said.

"Don't you worry, we're all going to be safe, just play along, follow the rules and be alert of what's gonna happen. Me and our team will keep you safe like we always did. Now is not the right time to go bust out of here," Jane added.

Jane was building a team, a squad and now they're recruiting us.
As soon as Jane and Billy went out we are left at Alex but Billy went back,

"Another thing guys, you Lower Class are dangerous, time will come you cannot control your abilities like our fellow here," Billy said referring to Alex.

"The only cure is to find your books, those books contain your data, your abilities any why your DNAs denied it. If your DNA continuously denying the serum, I'm afraid you'll die. Rumors said that you'll know your book because it is calling you but that's unbelievable right? I don't know why this books are being kept," Billy added.

"Why did you knew about all of this?" Froye asked.

"Well, ears are also eyes," Billy replied and left.

"This is a mess!" Oil said loudly while walking around uncomfortably.

"Everyone, be calm. We'll find our books, we will be safe and we'll get out of here," Froye said with authority, maybe to ease our fears and sadness.

Everyone was upset. I thought about my dreams, they're becoming real. It's making me sick. This whole Dome thing is a prison. Now that we know that it is walled by force fields, it's literally a prison.

"I'm sorry for not telling you about Jane, I also have one thing to confess, Mr. Kruegre talked to me. He told me everything about the war and he said that we'll be safe if we let them do their jobs," I said when I felt the moment is better.

"It's okay Jack, for now let's work as a team. We can get through this," Froye said.

"Let's find some help in here," Radar suggested.

"Where? To the pedagogues? They aren't even true. We don't know what they want from us," Paul said.

"We could find help, Right! Our pedagogues are also Lower Classes right? But they'd control they're powers! Therefore they can help us control ours too!" Eva said excitedly.

"I know who's the one that could help us. Weird teachers are the one who keep secrets," Oil said fiercely.
