Chapter Eighteen: Time Lapse (Part One)

         We we're here in the Dome for about a year. Things didn't change, we still have regular classes and the LCM got better. Only, we lost five Lower Class students. The pedagogues said that they runaway but we knew that they did not control their powers. The cafeteria was still clean and the foods were still delicious but who cares right? Haha it doesn't even make sense.

We are still finding ways on how to get out of here. Jane and her team helped us. Yes, we already met her team. There's this girl named Trina Rushton who could shapeshift into anyone, Rico Lerrman, a boy who had wings, literal wings like those you saw on fireflies, Summer Rogers, a girl who could move things using her mind, a girl who could do rapid cell regeneration which is Vanessa Banner, and also on her team was Billy and Shamara.

Shamara once told us that she always saved us from getting harm like those times when we always break the rules. The eyes which are the cameras all over the Dome, always caught what were doing but we were not called in the offices because she immediately deletes the memories of the one who sees us. She's one of the persons who you could trust not like Billy. I'm just kidding, well Billy is an awesome guy if you could relate to him because he always thinks that he gets what he wants.

For the past months, they always went  to Alex to have a meeting with us, also they went there to chill. That one year of being here made us a lot more wiser and stronger. Jane's team helped us to enhance our abilities and reach out to our capabilities. We had found ways on how to make our ridiculous powers turn into helpful ones.

Let's start with me, aside from the fact that I could do telepathic powers to a drunk person and being tolerant to alcoholic beverages, I can now see the alcohol percentage of a person in his body. This made my powers stronger because I could make a person feel drunk even if he/she did not drink alcohol. It's cool right? Now who's saying we're worthless?

Next, Eva can make someone do something for her when she touches them. That doesn't end there because she can also hypnotize people now. She can make someone dizzy and worst case kill someone by hurting them mentally. She is Eva Preston 2.0.

Radar on the other side was also upgraded, Billy was the one who trained him hard because he believes Radar could be stronger. Radar isn't only the WiFi man, he is dangerous. He could emit radiations. He could burn you to death when he emits nuclear radiation. He is way more powerful than all of us, he's not the lame bookworm I've met before.

Oil had also changed for the best, aside from the powers that she have like producing oil or controlling soil, she can also do boil and coil things as what we've joked on her. But what makes Oil incredible is she could create Earthquakes, but she's still working on it.

Paul was trained by Jane which made him come a lot more in handy. His color changing ability could make things unseen or invisible, it's because he camouflage things and also himself.

Froye's DNA which accepted the serum grants him a lot more cool abilities like he can enhance and weaken our powers. It has to do with emotions, I guessed. His book always taught him that emotions are the based center of strengths and weaknesses of one person.

Oh! I forgot to tell you, Yes we got our books. It was also the main reason why ourselves upgraded. So do you wanna know how we got our books? Okay let's go back to the day that we start finding it which was the day after that Upper Class party.

When Oil said that weird teachers are the ones who kept secrets, speaking of weird we have thought about Mr. Chris Renn, our biology instructor.

Sunday morning, the squad planned on talking to him after his class. We want to know what he knew about the books and the system. After the biology class we forcely broke into his room and let him talk. Froye shut the door and the windows so that no one will notice us.

"Y'you don't have to be harsh st'students. I can tell you anything you want," Mr. Chris Renn said with fear.

"Can you tell us anything about the books? And where to find them?" I asked.

"What books? You mean Biology 101 which I gave assignments to you?" he replied.

I put a palm on my face. "We know you know what books we're talking
," Froye said.

"You see as much as I wanted to help it would be a trouble to let you know about it," he retorted. We all looked at him sincerely in the eyes. Were like puppies with boggling eyes which says the word "please".

"OK then. I'll help you because you're also a Lower Class like me and I know one day you'll expire. Just please don't tell anybody that I am the one who told you about this," he said.

We all nodded and he started, "You have this crazy ability not like the upper class because your DNA was still denying the serum. Your DNA doesn't want to put the serums data on your cellular data. You see, its very complex and complicated. We Lower Classes were not supposed to be alive because of the fact that we are errors of the invention. Like you, we your Lower Class pedagogues were also harmed by the Regime. They wanted us to be dead like what Madame Gomez wanted for all of you but Mr. Kruegre did all of his best to find ways on how to make our DNAs accept the serum. All of us here in Lower Class have different processes and ways on how to do this. Mr. Kruegre, an angel from heaven was very hardworking and did all researches and observations on how to succeed in this problem. Like I said, we all have different processes on how to make our DNA accept the serum. Mr. Kruegre put the this data in different books so that one day you'll be able to do the process," Mr. Renn explained.

"But why didn't he just let us do the process now?" Eva asked.

"It's because you are being test on how strong you are, the books will be distributed by the end of the school year which is three years from now. This a wager between the Regime and Mr. Kruegre because the Regime wanted to be sure if you'll be useful on the upcoming war," Mr. Renn replied.

"We could not afford to wait three years for those books to be ours! Before we get those books, I'm sure we're all dead!" Froye yelled.

Suddenly, Oil screamed. We looked at her, she was very shiny. Her whole body was covered with oil. "I can't feel my body guys, what's happening?!" Oil said panicking.

"She's not controlling her ability anymore! If she'll stay that long she'll die," Mr. Renn said.

"You must get that books by now! You'll find it in the offices and in the library. You'll know your book because it's kinda calling you, it attracts you. Those books are titled in weird thoughts because for others your book is ordinary, only you can see your own book so be careful in choosing and finding the right book! Now go!" Mr. Renn added.

"What? The books will call us? Are you kidding? That's impossible!" Paul argued.

"Nothing's impossible nowadays," Mr. Renn said.

We all went out of the classroom and went into different areas. The other's went to the library while I went to Mr. Kruegre's office because I knew my book was there. When I got there, I stopped at the door because I heard Mr. Kruegre and Madame Gomez talking inside.

"What?! You have dreamed that there are Lower Class students who will ruin the system and here you are relaxing in your cozy office. I told you James, we should have killed these errors," Madame Gomez said.

"No! Killing is not the answer Perry, they are still humans, kids."

"Never mind James, you still think I am a misanthropic bitch," Madame Gomez said.

They went out abruptly and I managed to hide. They went straight to the cafeteria. It's my time to get the book. I went inside, saw the book, got it and I ran.
