Overprotective

Chapter 16

I woke up alone in bed, with the sun shining throught the window. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, my nose was no longer stuffy and I dont remember coughing throughout the night, but I still had a sore throat and a headache. I looked to my left and saw that there was a tray of noodle soup, a tall glass of orange juice and two Advil tablets and a note. I picked up the note and smiled as I read it.

Dear Danielle, 

Goodmorning love, you looked breathtaking as you slept, as you always do. If you're reading this you've probably just woken up and i'm not next to you. I've prepared you some breakfast, please eat it and take the Advil. I've just gone out to the store for some more anti-biotics and then I took Lilo out for a walk. I should be back before you wake up but if i'm not just stay in bed. I'll be back soon.

I set the card down on my bed before carefully picking up the tray and setting it down on my lap. The soup was still warm so I guess he only left moments before I woke up. I finished the bowl of soup and was halfway done with the orange juice when Liam walked in carrying Lilo and another plastic bag. He set her down on the floor and the bag on my bed. He smiled as I drained the cup and swallowed the Advil. He sat down next to me and kissed my cheek.

"Hello love, how long have you been up?" He asked as he pushed a fallen hair behind my ear.

"Not long, the soup was still warm when I got up." I said as I leaned into his touch. He then pulled me to his chest and laid down, his head at the bottom of the bed. He rubbed his hand under my shirt on my back. 

"How are you feeling?" He whispered. I placed my chin on his chest and looked up at him. His brown eyes flickered down to me as they showed concern. 

"My throat still hurts a little bit and I have a slight headache, but the good news is, I've stopped coughing and I can finaly breathe again." I said. I looked up at Liam and there were evident bags under his eyes. "Liam you look like shit." He rolled his eyes before yawning.

"Gee thanks babe." He said as he tightened his hold on me. "I'm just a bit tired, nothing that a cup of coffee won't fix." he smiled, but I could see it in his eyes how tired he was. 

"You didnt get enough sleep last night?" I asked as I sat up, taking him with me so our heads would be by the head board. 

"No, after you fell asleep, your temperature spiked up to almost 102, so I spent all night watching you, and trying to get your temperature down, but it was all worth it." he said as he yawned again. He rolled off me and flopped on his back rubbing his face, before looking up at me. I smiled and kissed his forehead. 

"Thank you, but seriously Liam you should get some rest. Take a nap or something." I suggested. He shook his head and cuddled up to my leg. He wrapped an arm around my leg and put his head on my hips. 

"Who's going to take care of you?" he said sleepily, and from that voice I knew he was going to knock out in a few minutes. I tried to make sleep come faster for his so I put my hand under his shirt and started rubbing his back slowly and the other in his hair. 

"I told you I was feeling much better than yesterday, i'd feel even better if you take a nap." I told him, his eyelids were slowly starting to close, and he was losing his internal battle to stay awake. 

"I'll only sleep for a few minutes okay, wake me up in exactly thirty minutes okay?" he said dreamily, before I felt his body relax completely into me and I heard small snores. I smiled down at the sleeping boy who looked so much younger when he slept and then shifted so I was laying down with him as well. He put his head on my shoulder and buried his face in my neck and tightened his hold from whien he moved his hands from my legs on my waist and sighed. I ran my fingers lightly through his hair smiling. He was doing so much for me, I know this has to be a first for him and I couldnt be any happier to share this first experience with him. I didnt want to move to wake Liam so i just made myslef more comfortable and tried to match my breathing with his and drift off to sleep. 

short chapter I know but i'm making the next one long so it balances it out I guess??
