Darry Doesn't Believe Me

(The Next Day)

I was released from the hospital today, and I was ready to go home. Soda was holding my hand not letting me out of his sight.

I stopped by the entrance of the hospital, and turned around and walked to the nurse at the front that cared for me. I smiled and said, "Thank you."

She said, "Your welcome. You have a wonderful smile, darling." I smiled and went back to my brothers, and I held Soda's hand again.

(Later that day)

I just told Darry about mommy and daddy. He said, "Scar, that ain't possible. You did not see them." Tear were in his eyes.

I said, "Oh, but I did. They said that they missed and loved us. It's true Darry."

He started to get angry and said, "No, it's not, mom and dad are dead, they left and are never coming back, Scar!"

I let a tear slip out of my eye and hugged Soda. I said in a
whisper-like voice, "I saw them Darry." He said, "Scar, that's enough! Go to your room, now!"

I looked at Soda and he was mad at Darry. He said, "Darry, calm down." Darry yelled, "Shut it kid!"

I said, "Don't yell at Soda. Ground me, yell at me, but not at my best friend." Darry said, "Go to your room now!" I went to my room and pulled my knees up to my chest, and I had my hands on top of my knees. (Picture at the top)

I started crying into my knees. How could he think I was lying? I never lie. I love Darry, but why does he have to be such a meany?

Soda soon came up and hugged me. I said, "Soda, w-why doesn't h-he believe me?" He said, "I don't know kid. I just don't know."

I looked him in the eyes and said, "You believe me right?" He was silent for a minute before saying, "Yeah, I do." I smiled at him and was trying to be strong.

(Soda's POV)

"Yeah, I do." I was lying. It's just not possible to go to Heaven and back. I hated lying to her, but I think she was just dreaming or something.

She smiled at me, and on the inside I wanted to tell her the truth, but I knew I couldn't. I also have to introduce her to my new girlfriend, Sandy tomorrow. I can't wait for them to meet!
