Reconnecting

I was so shocked and said, "He's engaged? To who?"

He shrugged and said, "Some Soc. He's been looking at houses all day on the
Soc part of town, and that has really tore the gang apart."

I said, "Ok, where's Steve?" Dally said, "Steve and Soda aren't best friends anymore.

You know how much Steve hates Socs, so Soda quit his job but Steve still works there.

He's probably working there right now." I said, "Where's Johnny?" He said, "At home with his parents."

I suddenly felt light-headed. I almost fainted, but I caught myself. I said, "And where's Two-bit?"

Dally said, "Either at Bucks or his house." I said, "Ok, I'm gonna do you a favor and get you out of here."

He said, "Scar, you don't have to." I went to the front and gave the lady the cash and said,

"I'm bailing Dallas Winston out." She said, "Whatever." She got up and unlocked Dally out.

He hugged me again and said, "I've missed you." I said, "You have?" He said, "Yeah, Johnny hasn't wanted to leave his house since you were gone.

So, I haven't seen him since last week. Everyone thought you ran away. So, we haven't been talking much."

I said, "Poor Johnny, and no I didn't run away I was kidnapped by Sandy Steel."

He said, "Sandy? Soda's ex girlfriend?" I nodded my head and looked down. I said, "That's why, I'm a bloody mess."

He looked down at me and said, "Your still the most gorgeous girl on the planet."

I looked at him and said, "You've said that to me before...oh yeah our first date when I cut my eye."

He said, "Yep, you've got a scar under your eye, Scar." I rolled my eyes and said, "That is literally the worst joke you could've made."

He said, "Really? I thought it was clever." I said, "So are we back together now?"

He said, "Yeah, I think so." I said, "Good that means I can do this."
I stepped on my tippy toes and kissed him.

It's been so long since I've seen him I missed him so much, but really how could Darry just forget me and get engaged to someone?

That's just cold. When we stopped, I said, "C'mon let's go to Johnny's house." He said, "Ok."

When we arrived, I heard very loud screaming.

Dally said, "Don't worry, I'll fight them off and you go upstairs and talk to Johnny."

I said, "Ok." Dally whispered, "1...2...3." He opened the door, I grabbed Johnny's hand and took him upstairs to talk.

He yelled, "Stop it!" I said, "Johnny it's me." He stopped squirming and said, "Scar? I can't believe it's you!"

He hugged me, and I hugged him back. He asked, "Why did you run away?"

I said, "I didn't run away. I was kidnapped by Sandy Steel."

He said, "Wow, I thought about what I did to you at the water balloon fight that day and thought it was my fault."

I said, "Well, of course it's not. Oh and on the subject of that me and Dally are back together."

He said, "That's great! I could tell he's really missed you." I said, "Yeah, I'm happy to, but mad at my brothers.

How could they do this to me? And how could Darry move on about me being kidnapped so quickly?

I mean I've only been gone for a couple of months. How could he be engaged that quickly!"

Johnny said, "Dally didn't tell you?" I said, "Didn't tell me what?" He said, "Well, Darry has been engaged to her for two years."

My jaw dropped, I said, "Two years? That even includes going to the girls home."

He said, "Yeah, I'm real sorry this happened.

But look at it this way you can go to the Manhattan School of Music and hold your chin up high and pursue your dreams."

I said, "Oh my gosh I forgot about that. Now, I'm excited!" He said, "Yeah, you'll have a good time."

I grabbed his hand, and we walked back downstairs to see both parents passed out.

I started laughing, I let go of Johnny's hand, and said, "Dally, your the best." I jumped up and hugged him.

Next, we were going to the DX. I said, "Ok, so I'll go in there and pretend I'm a customer,

And than you guys come in and act all cool and say, 'Sup Scar' and stuff like that got it?"

Dally smirked and said, "Got it." I walked in the DX still bloody. Steve said, "Uh miss, why are you bloody?"

I said, "Well, wouldn't you like to know." He rolled his eyes while I held back a chuckle.

I grabbed some chips, and Dally and Johnny walked in. Johnny said, "Oh hey, Scar."

Dally said, "Sup, Scar." I said, "Oh hey guys." I pulled out the money and said, "This will be all."

Steve just stood there looking shocked then he literally jumped over the counter shaking me.

He said, "Scar, where have you been these past months?"  I said "Ouch, scars."

Then, he laughed at my little joke...Dally was right it is funny. I said, "Oh and um in Sandy Steels closet being abused and almost killed.

That's why I look like this." He said, "Oh my gosh, I can't believe this." He hugged me, and I hugged him back.

I said, "Well, I missed you too but I have to know where my brothers are."

Steve said, "They're at a Soc house for sale. It's a few blocks from here I can take you guys if you want."

I nodded my head and said, "That'd be great." And just like that we were off to go see them.
