Scarlet Curtis

Soda's POV

Once we got home, I of course gave my little Princess a piggy back ride inside. Everyone was having a great time in the living room.

Than, Pony asked a question none of us wanted to answer. He said, "Hey Darry, now that we have a million dollars does that mean we can become Socs?" We all stayed quiet for a moment.

Than, Darry said, "Yeah Pony we can." I looked at Darry in shock. Why does he want to become a Soc? I thought he was happy being a greaser. That's when I lost it.

I yelled, "Why do you two want to become Socs? Is being a greaser really that bad? Well, I love being a greaser and I am never gonna change!" Darry and Pony looked at me astonished that I said that.

Than, my little Princess stood up, "Being a Greaser isn't really that bad." Dally said, "Y'all want to leave us?" Darry said, "No, we just think that we can become Socs with all this money."

Two-bit said, "Yeah it sure sounds like y'all want to leave us." Pony said, "That's not what I meant." Steve said, "Shut up kid. We know what you meant!"

I looked at him and said, "Steve, even though we are best friends and I want to stay a Greaser you do not tell my kid brother to shut up." He said, "Fine."

Scar said, "Why are we fighting. We are supposed to stay together like a real family!" Everyone was quiet for a minute. I was proud of Scar, all she wanted was to be apart of a family and now all that looks like it's gonna change.

Dally got up and said, "Look, I'm out of here. If you guys want to become Socs than become them. But if you do, we are no longer friends." Scar grabbed onto Dally's leg and said, "Please don't go."

I grabbed her and pulled her off. She hugged me and I rubbed her back gently and kept whispering in her ear, "It's gonna be alright. We're gonna be ok." Scar began to cry.

Dally just walked outside. Scar was still crying. Johnny said quietly, "I got to go home." Darry said, "Johnny stay here. We want you to." Pony said, "Darry is it ok, if me and Johnny go to see a movie tonight." He said, "Sure, but be back by curfew."

(Later that night)

Darry has been worried about Pony. He has been gone for hours. Scar and I were on the couch, and she was asleep. She looked so cute sleeping.

I started to close my eyes and before I knew it I was asleep. Than, a couple hours later I was awoken by the sound of the screen door opening and closing.

Darry said, "Where have you been do you know what time it is! It's two o'clock in the morning kiddo." Pony said, "I fell asleep at the lot, talking to Johnny. I didn't mean to."

Than, Scar was awake. She said, "What's going on?" They ignored her question. Darry yelled, "I didn't mean to, I forgot that's all I ever hear out of you!" Than I said, "Cmon Darry..." He cut me off, "Shut it. I'm sick and tired of you sticking up for him."

Pony said, "Don't you yell at him!" Than, Darry turned around and slapped him to the ground. Darry looked at his hand, and it was red.
He said, "Pony, I didn't mean to." But Pony was already out the door.

Scar starting crying again. She grabbed me tightly and said,
"W-what's gonna h-happen to    P-Pony?" I said, "I don't know Princess, but he'll be back. I just know it." Now, I'm lying to myself. Will he be back?

She said, "Are you lying to me." I looked at her and said, "I'm not lying, I'm hoping." She smiled and said, "Me too." I took Scar to our room, told her goodnight, and cried myself asleep.
