LACEY
The Doctor's screwdriver whirled me awake.
"What?!" I screamed, completely startled. I was so startled my own voice sounded foreign to me. I blinked, unsure about what I was seeing.
The Doctor wore a hat; an Akubra, really? "...Where did you get that hat?"
"I found it, thought it was cool, and took it." The Doctor murmured, examining the hat he put on his hand, to take a closer look.
"You stole it?!" I snapped. This was not going to be an easy morning. I threw my duvet off my bed, kicking away my pillows from my feet.
I suddenly stopped, slowing back into bed. No work. No early start. No mindless zombies. No late nights!
"Lacey," Doctor waved his hand in front of my face as soon as he noticed I wasn't annoyed by him or paying any attention to his cunning plans or pointless rants.
"Leave me alone!" I screeched, "I have nothing to do!"
"Let's go see what Rubie's doing then, hey?" The Doctor swivelled around on his chair.
"If you insist," I sighed, getting up once more.
I did so many things in such a short period of time it needed to be put in slow motion just to see what I was doing in detail.
Doctor would get up from time to time to play around with his hat or flick out his screwdriver just to see if it was functioning to 'the best of its ability'.
I don't know why Doctor suggested visiting Rubie. She literally could be doing anything right now! Partying with her plush toys, eating lunch with the Master... Whoa, wait, it's noon already?! How long was Doctor watching me sleep?!
The Doctor was laying out clothes for me as I was on the phone, attempting to call Rubie. All I heard was the non stop ringing of the phone trying to connect our lines... what was she doing? She always answers her phone!
She's probably at work... I wouldn't be surprised, everyone loves her over there. She's a hard-boiled, crude honest, hard worker.
Or maybe she was stuck listening to her stupid geek of a cousin Justin bitch about Doctor Who. Hmph, he should be ashamed of calling himself whovian!
I fixed my makeup and hair to a specific order. Since I was now occupation free, I found that I was rather interested in putting myself out there. And not for a job. I'm twenty seven, I can't be lonely forever.
"Can I just say..." The Doctor had his index finger over his lips and his palm under his chin, "...you look different."
                              I nodded, and then shrugged.
"Nowadays this is how we communicate to each other," I explained, putting my headphones in.
My eyes stood out with the makeup I put on. They were so immaculate; I could take a photo and put it on Instagram for a million likes! But I'm a photographer, I take good photos no matter what... I've loved photos and editing ever since I was twelve. I just never embraced my talent, or nurtured it enough to consider it to be a great skill of mine.
Instead, I went to university for graphic design and nursing. Sigh.
I decided to bring along my old camera I hadn't used in years.
If I remember right, the batteries should be... ah!
With my camera strapped around my neck, I followed the Doctor into the TARDIS as if it were a regular thing to my brain. Music pumped loudly in my ears, making me grin. The beautiful singing of a certain fae was heard, even with my loud music playing. Dilly?
