Evie slowly opened her eyes. She felt incredibly weak and cold and there was a pressure on her chest keeping her from breathing very well. She stared at the ceiling above her. It was rock? Where am I? She asked herself. Candles flickered around the dark cave like room. She suddenly remembered her walk in the woods, the ringing the poem and the blood before everything went black. She was so weak she could barely move as she let her head loll to the side. Her heart started pounding when she noticed a man, the one who'd attacked her in the woods, both he and Evie were completely unclothed and he was spread lazily over her body, his mouth on her wrist. She knew the weakness she was feeling was from blood loss as he continued sucking it from her wrist.
He pulled away from her a little, moaning as he licked the blood from his dark red lips. The cold air struck where his warm body was as he moved away a little, holding pressure to her wrist to stop the bleeding. Evie noticed the pile of furs and deer skins where they were laying and how soft and comforting they were.
She let her head loll the other way to analyze the cave. It was basically a huge room with others attached and candles all around, burning softly. Once again she felt chills cover her and knew it was true. They always say you feel cold when you've lost too much blood. She wondered how much he'd drank. Enough to make her feel like she was floating. She turned her head back slowly and noticed him staring back at her, his black eyes glaring, a small snarl on his red lips. Evie was intimidated but too weak to move.
He had tattoos running down his arms and on his chest and different colored, beautiful, haunting eyes. He crawled closer to her, moving back on top of her body as he roughly turned her head to the side. Evie felt a sharp prick as he nipped her neck. She felt blood rush out and she opened her mouth to scream but nothing came out. The warmth of his body helped the chill she felt. She slowly got even weaker and her vision started to blur. His hair gently brushed against her face and his warm breath on her neck nearly made her nearly fall asleep. This is it. She thought, I'm gonna die of blood loss. What a bizarre way for me to go, she thought, but he stopped, pulling away before stopping the blood flow on her neck.
Her vision wavered and she blacked out for a second. He pressed his lips against hers and she could taste the metallic taste of her own blood. He backed away, pulling her body roughly on top of his own. Evie kept blacking out for seconds at a time wondering when she was gonna die. Her head rested on his bare chest. Her eyes stared blankly at the rock wall beside them. She felt his hand cradling her head close and the other one softly caressing up and down her spine. The sound of his heart beating made her even more tired as she slowly let the unconsciousness take over.
