Evie slowly trudged back towards the cave. She wanted to take her time getting there knowing that once she did she was in for it. Marilyn expected her to bring him someone and since she didn't, she knew he'd probably kill her. Either that or make her wish she was dead. She stopped to breathe a moment and looked down on the farm. It was such a beautiful place, it was hard to believe it had become such a death trap. She started walking again and finally reached the cave entrance. Marilyn was waiting for her.
"Marilyn I... I couldn't... I didn't bring anyone with me I just can't do it." She stuttered. She saw his face grow even darker as he glared at her. She lowered her eyes to the ground, feeling her heart pound. His hand shot forward, grabbing her neck, constricting it tightly. She winced as his sharp rings cut into her neck.
"Then you can take their place." He growled. He shoved her back roughly making her trip and fall to the ground. She shuffled backwards as he walked a few steps closer, slapping her hard across the face. She cried out, grabbing her face. She felt warm blood ooze between her fingers and gritted her teeth. A thought crossed her mind that maybe she should've just found someone to bring him but she couldn't let that happen again. He grabbed her hair, pulling her to the fur bed that she'd grown so familiar of. She wondered if it was finally her time to go but her will to live grew stronger every second and she knew it wasn't. He held her wrist down and pressed himself on top of her to hold her down. Using the sharp metal of the ring he wore, he made a small cut on Evie's arm.
She closed her eyes feeling nauseous as he began to suck greedily from her wrist. She almost blacked out at the thought of her skin being slit open and her blood pouring out. She'd always been terrible with blood and had a very low pain tolerance. She hoped she would black out so that she wouldn't feel anything but she was wide awake, adrenaline pumping madly. He held one of her arms in one hand and let the other hand roam over Evie's body. Her eyes opened wide as he trailed up her stomach towards her chest. What is he planning to do? She asked herself.
She started feeling weak and knew he'd probably drank a pint or more of her blood. Black dots swam around in her vision as she wondered if she was dreaming. He started pulling off his clothes, his mouth never leaving her wrist before starting to pull off hers as well. Is he going to rape me? She wondered feeling terror well up inside her. Instead he stopped the bleeding in her wrist and slowly made his way to her neck. If he cut her jugular she'd bleed out right here. She tried to pull away a little but was too weak. The only thing separating them was his dark tattoos that covered his arms and he began to suck the blood from her neck. Her body became more and more numb until only her mind was awake and it, only barely.
She began to think about what was happening and tried to come up with a reason as to why he did this. She thought it was so animal like and strange. Like a snake, curling around its pray before swallowing it whole. Was he a vampire? Some other mythical creature? Was he crazy? She didn't know the answers to anything anymore. She could barely stay awake and let her body relax as her head lolled to the side. She saw a dark shape whisk by and wished she had the strength to alert Marilyn but she couldn't even keep her eyes open. She knew she was just hallucinating. Through her blurry vision she noticed Marilyn pause and look up, licking the blood from his dark red lips and motion into the darkness of the cave. Evie's had no clue who or what he was motioning to and at this point she didn't care. A wave of coldness crept in, chilling her to the bone. His warmth wasn't enough to ward off the chills as she closed her eyes and let herself sink into oblivion.Upon opening her eyes Evie's could hear hounds. They were close, they got closer and closer and she felt like she'd never been so scared in her life. She took off running out of the cave, down the hill, heading for the farm. Her house. Her room. Her safe loving parents. The hounds spotted her, the chased after her too fast for her to ever make it to the house in time. She knew they'd attack her. Gunfire popped in the night sky. Bullets whizzed past her, thumping into a dead tree, the ground exploded in tiny puffs of dust from the impact of the bullets. The hounds got closer. She tripped and fell, hitting her head, she tried to grab for the wound on her face but her limbs were like lead. The hounds closed in on her. Like a ritual they surrounded her. The sound of voices were closer. They were gonna shoot her. The hounds finally reached her, running up and ripping into her flesh... Wait no. They nuzzled against her gently. Like puppies. She was so confused. What was happening? Suddenly she felt like she was blacking out again. Or was she waking up?
Her eyes flew open. It was a dream. She let out the breath she must have been holding. Wait no... It wasn't a dream. She heard hounds and voices. She felt the nuzzling of the dogs. But she was in the cave... She saw the flicker of candles before Marilyn's elegant face went over each one like a breeze blowing them out. She tried to move but couldn't so she simply let her eyes follow to the source of the nuzzling. There was a person. She wanted to scream but couldn't do that either. She felt drained of every drop of blood. Her skin was sickeningly white and her mouth was dry. "Don't panic." Marilyn said, his voice deep as the ocean. "He won't hurt you." He said. Evie's eyes met the brown eyes of the person who laid against her stomach like a dog. "He's a friend of mine. If you hurt him I'll kill you." Marilyn growled. Evie struggled to even breath as she studied the person. He had black hair like Marilyn's only long and dreaded. He was thin and pale and probably only a little taller then Evie. His eyes were big and brown like a puppies and she felt the urge to comfort him like a child.
Marilyn looked at the cave entrance when the baying of hounds got closer. She wondered who this person was but her mind was so foggy she couldn't think of the words to say to find out. "I drained most of your blood. I'm surprised you're alive." Marilyn growled. His voice have her even more chills then she already had. She wanted to ask him so many questions. Needed to. But it was hard even to breathe. She heard the person who was clasped to her like a scared child whimper as the hounds seemed to close in and she used every bit of strength she had to lay her hand on his shoulder comfortingly which got a look of appreciation from Marilyn. She wavered in and out of consciousness as voices and howling and a few gunshots whirled in the night air. Suddenly everything went black.
