Jason's pov

I was watching Miranda perform in a concert. She looks so amazing and beautiful up there. She's just so talented. She walks to the edge of the stage with guitar in hand. "Let's say we play somethin' new. Somethin' you guys haven't heard yet." I wonder if I've heard it yet. "Don't need no copy of old magazines. Don't need to dress like no beauty queen. High heels or sneakers, he don't give a damn, my baby loves me just the way that I am!"

*later*

It's true what they say. Time can change a girl. In this case, it changed her for the better. I still missed her every day but you know. She's strong, confident, independent, and she's such a great singer. I lace my fingers with her while she rests against my chest. I carefully lay her down so I don't wake her up. I kiss her head and go to her desk. Maybe I'll write her a song. I smile and think of one. I take out my wallet and smile at the old faded photograph from long ago. I never gave it up because it reminded me of home..... She was my home. I put it on the desk and start the song.

*the next day*

Miranda's pov

I wake up in my bed, Jason laying beside me. I smile and cuddle into his chest. He kisses my head. "I've got a surprise for you." I smile. We get up and get ready but he won't tell me where we're going. "Hey get your guitar, baby girl." "Okay." I get it and we go to his plane. He flies us to a sandy beach. He steps out and takes a deep breath. "Where are we?" I ask. He turns around to me and smiling. "Eh a little ways off the coast of a Malaysian island. "So uh.... Jason.... These adventures. Did you just fly to random places and explore?" He laughs. "Darlin', if I did that I'd have easily gotten myself killed. They were planned out, big time." "So what's this one?" He shakes his head. "This isn't that." He takes my guitar. "I've got a song for you." My eyes go wide in surprise. "Oh thinkin' about our younger years, it was only you and me, we were young and wild and free. Now nothin' can take you away from me, we'd been down that road before, but that's over now you keep me comin' back for more!" Tears come to my eyes. I'm the real reason he came back. Not Kasi's wedding. Me. "Baby you're all that I want, when you're lyin' here in my arms, I'm findin' it hard to believe we're in heaven. And you're love is all that I need and I find it there in your heart, it isn't too hard to see we're in heaven!" This song easily describes me and him. "Oh once in your life you find someone who will turn your world around, pick you up when you're feelin' down, yeah nothin' could change what you mean to me there's lots that I could say but just hold me now cause our love will light the way." He sets the guitar down and walks over, touching a hand to my tear stained face. I look away embarrassed but he pulls me back and kisses me passionately. "You're all that I need you're all that I want...... I'm in heaven." He whisper sings. "Oh Jason, that was the most heartfelt song I've ever heard." He smiles and wipes the tears from my cheeks.

Jason's pov

"While I faced wild tigers, freezing winds, and hellish deserts, nothing and I mean nothing could compare to coming home and seeing the girl I've loved my whole life." She dabs at her eyes with a tissue. Time to get down to business. This girl is my unborn children's mother. She's gonna be my girl til the day my tired idiot body gives out and I take my dying breath. The wind blows around us. "This island is beautiful." She whispers. I smile and walk with her to the water. "I have a story about this island." I whisper, looking down the ways at where I was. "What's the story?" She asks, turning around.

~flashback~

I crashlanded here. This was before I got my own plane. The pilots were dead. I limped down the sand, dragging my bloody leg. I sat down on front of a tree. I was stuck here for three months. By the time Ben found me, I had gone completely insane. A third from starvation and dehydration, a third from infection, and another third from being alone for so long. By the time Ben found me, I was skin and bones, weak, unable to see, think, or talk clearly and Ben said the only thing I'd say was her name.

~flashback over~

I cringe reliving that horrible three months. I thought I'd die without seeing her again. Cause after seeing her in South America through those hallucinations, it only made the burning desire to see her again all the more alive. I don't remember much after the first month but Ben said he'd never seen me so messed up. "Man, I'm glad Ben found you." She whispers after I tell her that story. We walk down the sand. "This is where I camped out. I couldn't walk too much cause I broke my leg in the crash." "How'd you survive without any food?" "Well it ain't much now but before these trees actually had fruit..... They're pretty dead now..... And..... Well..... It wasn't my only food source." Her eyes go wide. "Are you saying what I think you're saying?" I sigh and nod. "Eww." "I know. It haunted me for weeks. Ben couldn't get me to do anything for almost a month. Anyway my wild past is not what I brought you here for." We had walked up a hill that overlooked the whole beach. "This has been a long time coming but I know I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. I didn't know it as a stubborn dumbass teenager but I know it now." I hold her hands. "Will you..... Marry me?" I shakily ask, getting on one knee with a ring in my hand. "My gosh, Jason yes!" I smile, stand back up, and hug her tight. Now this place has one of the best memories ever as I make love to my newfound fiancé on the sands of this beach.
