Jason's pov

We get off her kickass tour and I put my pilot's jacket on. "Darlin' get ready. This is gonna be one wild ride." She zips a jacket up. Wow she's serious about wanting to do this! "You can still back out if ya want." She gives me an evil grin. "You tryin' to get rid of me cowboy?" I laugh and shake my head. "No hun it's just dangerous. I don't want you to get hurt." She rolls her eyes. "I faced the amazon and the treacherous tundra, I've been lost in the woods for weeks surviving only with my smarts and strength." She looks at me like I'm crazy. "What? I did!" "Really?" "Yeah, I told ya I've been doin' stuff you wouldn't believe." I step out of my truck at the airport. "Where are we going?" I turn around and smile. "My plane." Her eyes go wide. "Wow, this is big then." I nod. "You wanna wait at home?" She glares at me. "I'm not backing out. If you can, I can!" I sigh. "Ok, let's go." I start up my plane, checking everything to make sure it's good. Which it is. "Ready?" I call. She nods. "Ok turn the key and buckle up!" I hear the engine roar to life. I smile and close the door. "Let's hit the slopes!" She gasps. I laugh.

*one drive later*

Miranda's pov

The fog is getting bad. "Hey Jason, can you see through this?" I ask. He squints a little. "I... I've fought much worse hun." He looks like he's having trouble seeing. "Maybe we should land!" "Sweetheart look out your window!" I do and we're over water. Oh we can't land. I'm worried we'll crash. I think Jason knows. "I know what I'm doing. We're fine." I take a deep breath. "Ok I trust you." He holds my hand. "Just go to sleep. You'll need your strength to climb the mountain." Hm he keeps talking about needing strength and stuff. How bad is this mountain? What did I get myself into?

*later*

I must've drifted off because he shakes me awake when we land. I step out onto snow. I wrap a scarf around my neck. Jason steps put, hands on his hips and takes a giant breath. "Ooh breathe in that cold air." He says, smiling. Why does he love doing this?! "We have to hit base camp first, get supplies and a good night's sleep, then we'll climb tomorrow morning. It should be a month long climb before we reach the summit." A month. He sees my shocked face and chuckles. "I warned you it would be a tough adventure. You aren't quitting are you?" "No I'm just surprised at how beautiful it is up close. I've seen videos and stuff but.... I never imagined this." I lie. I'm really terrified but there's no way I'll tell him that! He walks over looking worried. "You don't have to do this. If you're scared, I won't think any less of you." "No! I'm not scared. I can do this!" I gasp. He smiles. "Then let's get to base camp."

Jason's pov

I'm not stupid. I can tell she's terrified. I'll give her til tomorrow. I know she'll decide not to once she sees the mountain up close. We get to base camp. Ben, my partner in crime on most of my crazy adventures walks over. "Yes man! I thought I was going up alone!" He says, shaking my hand. "Well, my girlfriend wants to come too." I say, pointing behind me. "Are you sure?" "Between you and me, I'm sure she'll change her mind and stay at base camp." I whisper. He nods and walks over.

Miranda's pov

Jason and his friend walk over. I wave. "The name's Ben ma'am. Where did you and my redneck pal meet?" "High school." I mumble. "I almost didn't come back since I gave up this life to be with my country singin' girlfriend but she convinced me." Jason says, smiling. Ben laughs hysterically. "You.... Giving up! Ha!" "Oh stop Ben!" He gasps, laughing along with him. I'm confused. I shrug. Jason guides me to a tent and we get some hot soup with chunks of beef in it.

*later*

We were laying down to sleep. "I can do this. I'm not going to chicken out." I whisper, pulling my jacket tighter.

Jason's pov

I hear her mumbling. I'm worried about her climbing this mountain. I prop my head on my hand. "Hun, you don't have to do this. If you're doing this to impress me or something-" "No I wanna do this! I know I can!" She cries turning over. "Ok but you have to promise you'll stay with me the whole time. I don't want something to happen to you." "Jason, what did I get myself into?" I bite my lip. "Tomorrow when I go, just stay at base camp." She looks reluctant but finally agrees. I smile and kiss her forehead. "You'll be safer here."

*the next day*

I stand at the base. "I'll see ya next month babe!" I call, waving. The wind blowing makes me shiver. "Stay safe!" She calls, worriedly. "I'll be fine." Ben smiles. "Let's go redneck." I clasp his hand tightly. "We have a mountain to climb."
