This Chapter Sucks

Jason's pov

I'm watching Miranda's concert when I feel someone tap my shoulder. I turn around and it's Ben. I turn back around. "What? Why are you mad at me?" "On the mountain, you told me to drop her, if it was just you two, you wouldn't have even tried to save her!" I grumble, angrily. "I didn't think it was possible!" "Yeah but Ben, you didn't even try. Just leave me alone."

*after the concert*

Me and Miranda go to a bar. "You did great, baby, you're a great singer." "Thanks." My phone buzzes. A text from Ben.

B: so we're not friends anymore because of some dumb girl!?

J: she's not just a dumb girl, she's my girlfriend and I love her. Have since high school.

B: oh yeah then why did u leave?

I sigh and lower my phone. He knows why.

J: you know why!

B: I don't care.

I left because I had to get the crazy energy out of me. I wanted to have some fun before settling down. I regret it every day of my life now, knowing what happened to her. I won't let that happen again. Never. I hug her. "What's wrong, Jay you look upset?" I am upset. "No I'm fine. Just a little tired. We should go on home." "Ok." I hold her hand, lacing our fingers together and heading to my truck.

*later*

She's sleeping soundly and I can't sleep at all. What am I doing after this? Am I doing another adventure? Am I finally able to settle down? With the girl I love. Yeah. I'm not gonna run away. Not again. I kiss her forehead and finally go to sleep.
