CHAPTER SEVEN

Alicia's POV

I smiled to myself while Mikey and Ray had an intense conversation about the next issue of Hellboy. Things are looking up now. Everyone has had a tough time, especially Ray, but we're going to be okay. Even today, we acted like we used to when nothing bad happened. We had fun. We smiled and laughed. What makes me laugh is that they actually think I care about what this funny thing that happened is. Yeah I'm curious, but it'll just be some stupid thing that only guys laugh at.

Ray's POV

This morning was fun. It's nice to be carefree, even for just an hour. I felt a small stab of pain in my heart as I thought about Christa being here. We would probably be planning things for when Sasha arrived. I miss them so much. But I'm doing this for them. I'm being strong. My family is so good to me. They have helped me through so much, it's unbelievable. It's scary to think that I wouldn't even be here without them. I dropped my negative thoughts and continued my animated conversation about Hellboy with Mikey.

Mikey's POV

I watched as Ray's face went blank and then twisted in pain. I know that he's lost in a memory. He wouldn't want me to notice, so I keep talking. After a moment he smiles to himself and continues with the conversation. It must be so hard for him. I lost my baby, but to lose my wife too... I can't even imagine it. He's so strong, it's amazing. Ray Toro is a man of many strengths. I look up to him so much.

Around lunchtime, the door opened and the sound of feet and voices filled the house. Up until now, Alicia had been on her laptop, I was watching TV, and Ray was reading a book. I smiled when Cherry, Lily and Bandit jumped on me, wrapping their small arms around me. They then ran to Ray and then to Alicia. Frank, Gee, LynZ and Jamia greeted us, carrying boxes smelling of Chinese. Ray jumped up and snatched a box, already trying to grab things he wanted to eat. Jamia snatched it back, placing it on the table. "Mind your manners" she scolded, giggling. "Yeah Uncle RayRay" Bandit chimed in. We all ate, Lily telling detailed stories about anything that came to her mind. She put on such a show, and made something out of nothing. She'll be a great performer one day.

After lunch we took the kids to the park. I sat down on a wooden bench with Frank and Alicia. "So Mikes, 'Licia. We have an idea" he said, gesturing to Gee, LynZ, Jamia and himself. LynZ and Jamia sat in the grass in front of us. Gee leaned on a tree. The girls played on the playground happily. "We think we should all get a place together again" Gee said. "Like we used to have in the good old days" Frank said. "Only bigger and more suitable for our growing family" LynZ added. "Our growing family?" Alicia questioned. LynZ stood up and Gee draped his arm over her shoulders. "We're having another baby!" they said together. Everyone jumped up. "Oh my god! That's fantastic!" Alicia cried. "Congrats man!" I shouted at Gee. "You never told us this in the car when we talked about moving in together!" Frank pouted. "We wanted to tell everyone all together" Gee said. "Does Bee know yet?" I asked. LynZ shook her head. "We're going to tell her and Cherry and Lily later" she said. We all nodded, taking turns hugging one another.

Alicia's POV

"So" Gee said after a moment. "What do you guys think about all of us moving in together again?" I looked at Mikey, nodding excitedly. "I think it's perfect" Mikey said.
