CHAPTER TWELVE
Alicia's POV
In the morning we get to go look at the house. I'm super excited, but something has been on my mind ever since my talk with Jamia. I need to talk to Mikey. I've put it off long enough, it's something we really do need to talk about. I glanced at the doorway as he entered.
Mikey smiled at me as he crawled into bed beside me. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and I felt tempted to forget about talking to him tonight, and just let myself give in and fall asleep in his embrace. I sighed. "Mikes, we need to talk" I said quietly. He pulled away from me and sat up, looking at me. His face had fallen. "What is it baby?" he asked. He looked worried now. I took a deep breath. "It.. it's nothing really" I said. "It isn't nothing if you're having a hard time talking about it" he said softly. I took another deep breath. "Are we ever going to have kids Mikey?" I asked tentatively. A shocked expression came across his face. "It's- it's what I'd always sort of planned. Why? Do you not want kids? Because-" "No" I started, cutting him off. "I want kids. So so badly. I want to know how you feel. It's something we haven't really talked about since we lost the baby." He looked thoughtful.
"My plan in life has always been to be in a band, get married, have kids. I'm in a band, I've met the love of my life and married her, and kids is the next step." I smiled when he called me the love of his life. "It's just, after we lost the baby, everything just kind of stopped. So much was going on in our lives, kids seemed like the last thing on our minds. But now everything is settling down. I know our lives will never be 'normal', and I'm okay with that. I'm okay with not being normal as long as I get to be abnormal with you." I smiled again. He makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. "Does that mean you're ready for kids?" I asked. "I'm ready if you are" he said, smiling.
I fell asleep with a smile on my face, Mikey's arms holding me close to him. This is my forever, I thought as I fell into unconciousness.
