*on the way to Derek's house, Emma retells the story of Jessica for Derek's mom*
Emma: "So daddy where will I sleep at"
Derek: "Well I have a spare room that I can turn into your room. And then I have a few more spare rooms for nana and your aunts"
Emma: "Okay. Sounds good."
*to Derek's mom*
"Nana do you cook?"
Mrs.Shepherd: "I sure do. Why sweetie?"
Emma: "Could you teach me how to cook?"
Mrs.Shepherd: "Of course I will sweetie. Your dad cooks too. I taught all of my children how"
Emma: "Thanks nana"
Mrs.Shepherd: "You're very welcome sweetie"
*they pull up to Derek's house and he offers to take everyone's bags in*
Emma: "woah dad this house is amazing. Who helped you decorate it?"
Derek: "Nana did actually."
Emma: "Cool. Do you play video games?"
Derek: "Sometimes, yeah. Do you?"
Emma: "When I have time yeah. Anymore I spend my free time with Jess. And that's not much after school and sports practices depending on the time of year"
Derek: "I'm sorry to hear that sweetie. I was thinking about that actually..."
Emma: "Thinking about what?"
Derek: "About you living here with me. Is that something that you would want to do?"
