Derek: "Honey, I am your father. That means that no matter what I will love you. So what you are attracted to both boys and girls. So what you have been seeing a girl. I'm your father and I love you regardless."
Emma: "Really? Do you mean that?"
Derek: "Of course I mean that. I mean every word of it."
Emma: "Okay."
Derek: "Now, what do you want to do?"
Emma: "What do you mean?"
Derek: "You said you think you're pregnant. I can page Dr.Montgomery, the head of OB and she can do an ultrasound, and she may take some blood to do a test that way. Is that okay with you?"
Emma: "Yeah. Yeah we can do that. But only if you'll be by my side the whole time."
Derek: "Okay. I can do that. Whatever you need me to do, I'll do."
--Derek pages Dr.Addison Montgomery to an exam room up in OB--
Derek: "Okay. I paged her but now we have to go up to OB to meet her."
Emma: "Okay. Let's go."
--Derek and Emma enter exam room 2 in OB and wait for Addison.--
--5 minutes later Addison walks in--
Addison: "Hello Dr.Shepherd. And who do we have here?"
Looking at Addison. Derek: "This is Emma, my daughter." Derek looks at Emma "Emma this is Dr.Addison Montgomery; not only is she the best OB/Gyn in this country, she is also my ex wife."
Addison looks at him like he has just grown three heads right before her eyes.
Addison: "Derek is this some kind of joke?"
Derek, angrily: "No Addison. This isn't a joke. I need you to see if she is pregnant or not. Can you do that for me? Or do I have to go and find a different OB who isn't as talented as you are?"
Looking at Derek. Addison: "No. I'm sorry. I can do this." Then she looks at Emma "Okay Emma I'm gonna take some blood and do the test that way. Do you have any questions for me?"
Emma: "No. I can't think of any right now."
Addison: "Okay. I'll be back with the stuff to take your blood."
--Addison exits the room. Emma looks at Derek.--
Emma: "So you were married to her huh?"
Derek: "Yeah, a very long time ago."
Emma: "How long were you married?"
Derek: "12 years."
Emma: "Cool. "
--Addison comes back in ready to take Emma's blood--
Addison: "Alright, you ready?"
