Emma: "Well uhmm...So..How do I say this..? How do you feel about me being in a relationship with Jess? Because of the fact that we are both girls? And how do you think my dad really feels about it?"

Carolyn: "Honestly honey I think it's great that she makes you so happy. And I don't have a problem with the fact that you both are girls. As long as you are happy and whoever you date and eventually marry treats you well. And I can promise you that your father feels the same way I do about it."

Amelia: "She is right sweetie. Nana doesn't lie. If anything she tells it like it is and tells you what you need to hear not what you wanna hear. And me and your dad have talked in great detail about these kind of things over the years, it's why me and him grew up being the closest out of us kids. So I know for a fact that he is 100 percent okay with this. Me and you need to chat more later, like tonight. Okay Em?"

Emma: "Okay Aunt Amy. Can't wait. Thank you both so much I'm glad we could talk."

Amelia: "What else is on your mind Em?"

Emma: "Hmm.. Oh. Uhmm it's nothing. I think. At least I hope it's nothing. I just.. I don't know how to talk to him to ask him something. I want him to agree to this thing but I'm worried that he will think it's stupid. I don't know I'm just having second thoughts about asking him. Maybe I shouldn't ask him at all. Never mind. It's stupid. And I'm rambling aren't I?"

Amelia: "A little bit yeah. Do you do that often? I bet Jessica finds it cute."

Emma: "Sometimes yeah. Usually only when I'm nervous, or anxious or don't know what to say, like right now. I'm just gonna go change and then go on a short run." *She walks to her new room, changes into running gear, grabs her phone and earbuds, and walks out the front door and goes on a run*

*Meanwhile, when Emma is on her run, Carolyn and Amelia get back to talking. 30 mins later Derek wakes up and comes to the kitchen*

Derek: "Good morning girls. Where's Emma?"

Carolyn: "She went for a run about 30 minutes ago. She said it would be a quick run but I think it will be longer than that. She has a lot on her mind and needed the space to think. You need to talk to her about Jessica, Derek."

Derek: "Okay. Why? What about Jessica? I thought Emma was happy being involved with Jessica? She is happy with her isn't she?"

Carolyn: "Yes dear she is very happy being in a relationship with Jessica. But that is the problem. Emma is gonna be living here now, while Jessica is still there on the other side of the country. This distance between them is making her feel conflicted. And that is all I am saying. You need to talk to her about it for more information."
