Emma: "I'm not telling you anything. Why would I. You don't deserve to know. You don't deserve to have me as a daughter."

Derek: "Meredith, you are exactly like your mother. You have her looks. You have her surgical talents. And obviously you take after her parenting style. Only I'm not Thatcher. I'm gonna do something about it and be involved in Emma's life."
Meredith: "How dare you sit there and bring up my mother like that. And to say I parent my daughter the way she was with me. That is not true."
*Someone knocks on Derek's door. Suddenly the door opens. In walks.....*
Derek: "Mom. Girls. What are you doing here?"
Carolyn Shepherd: "Derek dear it's Thanksgiving time. You always spend the holidays working since you married Addie. I want that to change son. I wanna see you more often. Did we interrupt something? Is one of you ladies a patient of Derek's? I'm sorry. We'll find you later. Again ladies so sorry."
Derek: "Mom. Wait! Neither of them is a patient. *looking at Emma* Mom this is Emma, my daughter. Emma this is my mother Carolyn Shepherd."
Carolyn: "Oh! My! Since when do you have a child?"
Derek: "She's 15 almost 16 years ago. I only found out she existed a few hrs ago when she showed up here looking for me. But there's no denying she is my daughter. The timeline fits. Plus she looks so much like me."
Meredith: "He's right. Emma is his daughter."
Amy: "And who the hell who are?"
Meredith: "I'm Emma's mom."
Emma:"No. You're not my mother anymore. I told you I want nothing to do with you. Not after what happened to me."
Amy: "What the hell did you do to your own daughter?"
Meredith: "That is none of your business."
Emma: "Just shut up and leave. Leave me alone. I don't want anything to do with you."
Carolyn: "What did you do to her? I've never seen a child act this way toward their own mother."

Amy: "Why don't me and the girls take Emma out for a little while, so you three can talk?"
Derek: "Emma, would you be okay with that? You don't have to go if you don't want to."
Emma: "No. I do wanna go. I mean these are your sisters, my aunts, I need to get to know them and they need to get to know me. Just promise me something!?"
Derek: "Of course. What?"
Emma: "Don't tell her *pointing to Meredith* anything about Jessica."
Derek: "I won't say anything."
Carolyn: "Who's Jessica?"
*Emma looks at Derek and nods*
Derek: "I'll tell you later. I'm sure Emma will tell the girls."
Emma: "Yeah. I will."
*Emma, Amy and Derek's other sisters leave and go around Seattle.*
