"What?" Reese and I said at the same time.

When I said I have a feeling that Alex was hiding the truth from Reese, I didn't think that Reese's parents want him home. Judging from what Reese told me, their argument didn't seem to stop anytime soon so what changed?

"Why?" Reese asked.

"They decided not to end their marriage after all." Alex shrugged.

For a moment I thought I saw Reese smiled but his face turned sour.

"That's it? I have to go home then?" Alex nodded.

"No I'm not." Reese said without losing his gaze on me.

"But-"

"But what? If they want me home, they could have just called me." Reese looked at Alex. "You. You know that I don't want to go back there."

"But Seattle is your home, not here."

"This place is my home. I have everyone I need here." Reese hold my hand.

"C'mon man, everyone misses you. Your parents, me, Judith." Judith?

"What does Judith have to do with this?" Reese scowled.

"She misses you a lot."

"I don't care." Reese held my hand tigher.

"Look, she-"

"I DON'T CARE AT ALL! STOP GIVING ME BULLSHIT EXCUSES TO MAKE ME GO BACK!" Reese shouted at Alex before removing his grip on my hand and went out of the room.

"Why? I thought as a bestfriend you'd want Reese to be happy?" I asked him.

"He will be happier at Seattle. I'm just doing this for him." Alex replied.

I turned around and left the room to look for Reese. I heard the front door slammed shut when I got out of the guest room. I quickly went down the stairs and out of the house, just in time to see his tiny figure walking away from me.

"Reese! Wait!" Reese did not stop.

Taking a deeo breath, I ran. Reese is definitely putting his long legs into use. He is walking so fast that I have to keep on running. Worse, my chest is already burning but I can't stop or I'll lose sight of him.

"R-Reese. S-Stop." I manage to grip his arm.

We're in the park right now. Reese stopped and turned around, looking at me.

I took a few deep breaths to calm down my fast and erratic heart beat.

"Are you okay?" Reese clenched his jaw in response.

"Okay... I guess you're not. Do you wanna talk about it?" I asked Reese.

"Kiss me."

I raised my eyebrow at him but did it anyways. Cupping his face in my hands, I tiptoed and kissed his lips slowly and gently.

At first, Reese did not respond to my kiss. After some time coaxing him, Reese responded to my kiss.

I could tell that Reese was trying to be gentle and trying so hard to calm himself down. At least it worked, I could feel his anger seep sway as we kissed.

We pulled away when we're out of breath. And when I felt too tired to tiptoe.

"Thanks." Reese smiled at me.

"No problem, wanna talk about it?" I offered.

Reese nodded and led me to an empty bench where we sat in silence.
