In case you guys don't know, this scene takes place in the cafeteria when Reese and Tamara met for the first time in this book.

Enjoy ;)

Reese Argent

There she is.

She's there, sitting on the table while eating a sandwich. I can't really remember her name but I know she is Max's best friend. She was at Max's fourteenth birthday party, I remembered. I remember thinking that she looked really pretty that day and that I won't stand a chance to talk to her.

That was because I was going through puberty like most kids do; braces and acnes all over.

In the end, I did get to talk to her. Which was beyond shocking seeing that people don't really talk to me in school because of my appearance except Alex, my friend since first grade.

She was really nice that day which I was glad she is. But why is she sitting alone at the table? Where's Max? I thought they are best friends? They aren't fighting, right? What about others? Does she have any other friends that she hangs out with?

Maybe I should go sit with her. Then again, what if she has a boyfriend? Yeah, what if she has a boyfriend and she's waiting for him? What am I going to say when he asks me, that I'm his girlfriend's best friend's cousin? It made no sense.

Or maybe she really isn't waiting for anyone. Should I talk to her? Maybe I shouldn't. She probably want some peace.

Before I knew it, my legs are carrying me to her table.

"Is this seat available?" I asked her. Thank god I don't sound funny or anything.

Then she looked up and her huge brown eyes met my hazel ones. Damn, she's pretty, I thought. Her brown eyes look... warm and inviting. Then I noticed her heart shaped face with her high cheekbones. Then her cute button. Then her slightly parted pink lips that just looks damn kissable.

I didn't realize I was leaning closer to her. Luckily I managed to stop in time. I looked around me and see some kids looking at us, mainly the girls. I stood up straight and cleared my throat, hoping that they would get my hint to mind their own business.

After making sure that no one is looking at me, I looked at her again. She is still looking at me, at the same time her mind isn't there. Is she zoning out on me?

"Hello? Are you there?" I snapped my fingers, bringing her back to reality.

She jumped slightly from her seat, looking slightly clueless but she recovered herself before clearing her throat.
