The next few hours went by in a blur.
Cisco and Caitlin came and went, always busy with something; but Dr.Wells stayed by my side, even though it seemed as something was still bothering him. He assisted the two half the time, even if it was just fixing the IV, or running several tests.
He finally let me walk, and with no problem, I jogged around what they all called "The Correx".
As Caitlin was drawing more blood, my dad walked in.
"Is it visiting hours yet?" He said jokingly.
"For you, Mr.Rapids, anytime is visiting hours." Dr.Wells replys.
I make sure the needle is out of my arm before I leap off the bed, and run to him. My dad pulls me into a hug.
"I thought I lost you." He whispers to me.
"I love you Dad." I say.
"I love you too Chris." He replies.
We break up, and he moves toward Caitlin, Cisco, and Wells; who have gathered to witness our embrace.
"I can't thank you enough for what you have done for my son. You saved him, and I owe you my life." I have never seen my dad cry, except for when Mom left, but today, he is close to tears.
He shakes everyone's hand, and pulls Dr.Wells aside.
"How long will Chris be here?" He whispers.
Wells gives a smile, then responds.
"He can go home now, if all is okay with you."My dad turns to me. "Hear that Chris? You're coming home!"
"Yes!" I punch the air, and turn to the people who saved my life.
"Thank you. I can never repay any of you for what you have done."
"No probs little man." Cisco says as we fist-bump.
"Keep in touch!" Caitlin says as she hugs me.
I walk to Dr.Wells who is still where Dad had talked to him, observing the scene.
"If anything is out of the ordinary, run straight here." He says to me.
"You all will be the first to know. Again, thank you."
================================
The car ride home is silence. Not the akward silence of not knowing what to say, but a comfortable silence. One I could get used to.We arrive home, and I am tackled by Greg.
"I missed you soo much mate!" He says, helping me up from the ground.
"S.T.A.R. Labs was okay, I'm assuming?"I laugh. "The part I was awake for. However, Dr.Wells was annoyed by something. Just, the way he looked at me, it gave me the feeling he didn't want me there."
"Well, you are a hard person to be around." I look at him. "I'm joking. I wouldn't be here if it was hard to be around you."
We talk for what seems like hours, about everything and anything. Leo's Oscar, Trump for president, Star Wars, the recent terror attacks, recent books that came out; ect.
Eventually, it came down for Greg to leave, so we went to walk to his house.
"It's really freaky. You know, talking you finally. I guess the best way to describe is that I missed having you around." Greg says as we continue walking down the middle of the street.
Suddenly, I hear the screeching of car tires, and time itself slowed. I shove Greg towards the curb and at lightning speed, hurl myself that way too. I hit the curb hard, breaking my shoulder.
