I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I turn it off, and with a sigh, get out of bed. I need to do this.
Walking downstairs, I see my dad is running around getting ready for work.
"Hey kiddo." He says as he brushes by me.
"Hi Dad. Do you have a second?" I ask. I take a breath and wait.
"Sure. What's up?" He asks, sounding confused and worried.
"Nothing, I'm fine. I just wanted to tell you that, well, you know how I was struck by lightning?" He nods. "Well, I'm about to sound crazy, but that night, I got powers. I can run past the speed of sound. That's what all the tests at S.T.A.R. Labs have been about. To determine how fast I can run. I wish I had told you sooner, but I didn't know how to do that." I finish, glad that the secret is off my chest.
"You can't tell anyone though. Dr. Wells doesn't want anyone knowing, which is why I couldn't bring myself to tell you earlier." He just sits there, not moving, and stares at me.
"Chris. That is amazing!" He exclaims. "However, I don't want you to get hurt. Please, be careful, don't go playing Quicksilver on me.(R.I.P. Quicksilver. He will be missed.) Promise me you'll be safe."
"I promise Dad."
