Nona was in the house cleaning up as we had visitors tonight. I asked if she needed any help with cleaning up since I had a bit of time before going to work, but she shook her head. I went to the kitchen, grabbed an apple and headed out the door.

"Everly, wait!" Nona said before I closed the door. "You absolutely cannot let anyone know about Ambria. And that doesn't just mean telling them. You also can't give any facial recognition. We have guests tonight which means you have to be on your best behavior. These people are the government, they'll know if something is up." She gives me a warning look and I nod.

I exit the the house into the streets. Today is quite cold compared to yesterday and the sun is hiding behind the clouds. Its odd how, the village looks so normal compared to how hectic my life is right now. I was in as much trouble as Ambria if our cover was blown. Ambria had told me last night that we were connected-- the same person. Even the memory felt distant as so much was going on. I hadn't had time to let the new information sink in.

Today I don't take my bike because I want a slow walk to the stable where i can just relax, even if not for long. The streets are less empty than from this morning which is good since I can make my way to the stable easily.

Entering the stable, I take off my coat and hang it on the rack. I see Margaret working but she doesn't look up from what she is doing. Already, and she knows how to act normal. I remind myself that I need to act like that today, especially for dinner. I look at the board to see which horses I am doing today and head towards the first one. I start by taking off its saddle, which was quite heavy. then, I groom the long hair and tail along with the short coating around its body. I give the horse some barley and carrots and then move on to the next one.

Our government was very kind when it came to giving us our jobs. Before we turned fourteen, everyone took a test to see what jobs would suit them best. I wrote down that I loved helping those in need and I loved animals. I was aiming for a veterinarian. I got the job at the stables, which was the next best thing.

As I'm working on my next horse which involved hosing it down, all of a sudden the bell at the front door, rings. When The Protectors came in that was usually what they had to do. I make my way down the hall and see who rang the bell.

My jaw almost drops when I look at The Protector, but luckily I keep my composure. It had been the most beautiful guy I had seen in my life. He had light brown hair and green eyes with a sharp jaw. He was tall, taller than me surprisingly. His grip to the horses' saddle was firm which made him look so much nicer. He had a gray horse with him which was covered in snow.

"How can I help you sir?" I say smiling.

"Do you guys have room for one more horse?" He says in a deep velvety voice. A sound unfamiliar to what I'm used to.

"I think so, but let me check..." I turn to the board hanging on the wall and look for any empty stable. "Yep, we do. Our stables are quite full... and looking at the condition of your horse, its going to take until tomorrow. Is that fine?" I say looking at him.
