The interrogation room was about the same size as my cell and had grey walls. But the room was somehow different from my cell. Obviously it didn't have a cot or a toilet at the side. My cell didn't have a large table in the middle with chairs around, yet that wasn't what made me feel queasy about this room.

The room felt intimidating, for lack of another word. And I think it was exactly what they wanted their prisoners to feel inside here.

Maybe it was the fact that I had to wait in here all alone because Governor Tiberius ran out to 'grab some equipment'. That I was feeling nervous about this interrogation. Or the mere fact that Tiberius felt intimidating.

The door in the corner of the room opened and Tiberius stepped in. Along with him was a guard who had no expression. He was tall taller than me and his face was very handsome. As much as I wanted to ogle him a bit longer, I couldn't. Because it was Cayden. The person I had liked.

He glanced my way and furrowed his eyebrows but I looked away. If he thought I would forgive him, he was wrong. I was not a stupid girl that would fall for his stupid acts.

"Okay Everly let's begin. I want you to explain what happened when you first saw your bonder appear. Where were you?" He has a clipboard ready to write down my answers. "I advise you answer correctly. We do not take this lightly."

"Ambria, the girl, my...bond, appeared when I was at my workplace. I work at the stables and as I was going to the next horse she was just sitting there at the back." I say this to him but don't look him in the eye.

Whoever told him about Ambria and I must have known some information. Tiberius would know if I was lying. Maybe I could slip away with not telling him more important things.

"Good, go on." He says with a firm voice.

"She looked confused. I guess she didn't know anything about where she was. I knew she wasn't from here–the North I mean—because her skin was very tanned." I take a deep breath and continue.

"I tried to act normal because I found it unusual that she was in the stable. The first thing she asked me was if I had a mirror anywhere and I just took her to the bathroom that is at the stables."

Out of the corner of my eye I glance at Cayden. He seems interested in what I am saying.

"She told me that she wasn't from the North, which I already knew. But then she told me that she teleported here. It was the first time I had ever heard anything like that. But I trusted her because, at the time, I couldn't think of any explanation as to why she showed up. She wasn't properly dressed so I lent a jacket to her. And then we went to my house."

"Very good seems like you are telling the truth. Who else knew about Ambria? Who was involved?" He leans forward at stares me down.
