"Orion I know there's nothing we can do but wait here and hope what Cayden said was true. But do you think that this is all going to work out?" Orion turns toward me.
"Ambria I know as much as you do. All we have now is hope, and trust that Cayden will come through. I do not know if this is all going to work out but I have hope that it will. Ambria you can not lose hope, because the second you do Everly loses all chances of surviving all of this."
"Thank you Orion that's exactly what I needed to hear. And I know I've thanked you multiple times, but I've got to say it one more time: thank you. I have no idea what I would be doing if you weren't here with me."
"Well you would probably be in trouble right now and your hero wouldn't be there to save you." Orion grins at me and I silently sigh to myself. Seeing his grin has made me somewhat calmer. I watch as dimples appear on Orion's cheeks, making him that much cuter. I must have been staring at him too long, because he laughs. " You like what you see?"
A blush starts to cover my cheeks and I instantly look away. "What are you talking about? What is there that I would like?"
I peek at Orion and see that he now has a full blown grin on his face. "Oh come on you know that's a complete lie. You were staring at my face and by that cute smile on your face I could clearly tell that you liked what you saw."
"Did you just say 'cute smile'?" Orion can no longer look me in the eyes as his face starts to turn red. If it's possible my grin widens even more. I would never have expected such a comment from Orion. "It's nice to know that you think my smiles cute."
"That's not what I meant!" Orion objects.
"Oh so you don't think my smile is cute?" I pretend to look upset even though at this exact second literally nothing could ruin my mood. I watch as panic sets in on Orion's face and he hurries to correct me.
"No I didn't say that either. Your smile is cute just don't let it go to your head."
"I don't think I'll ever let it go. Orion whatever-your-last-name-is thinks my smile is cute."
"Would you guys both be quite. You are making so much noise." A voice whispers harshly from behind us. Orion and I both turn around and see Cayden. Standing a bit behind him is Everly with one hand grasping at Cayden's arm and her other arm crossed over her chest. Everly's face looks pale and I start to get worried, what could have happened?
I walk over to Everly and go to give her a hug but she recoils from my touch. "I don't think she wants to be touched." Cayden speaks up in a terse tone.
"What happened?" I look between Cayden and Everly. Cayden looks stone-faced and Everly looks terrified.
"We can discuss this latter we should get moving, now." Cayden shoulders passed me and grabs one of the bags that Orion and I had left discarded on the ground as we waited for the two to show up. Orion grabs the other bag and we all walk at a quick pass behind Cayden.
