Chapter 5

--Jades POV--

"I'll see you tomorrow." Kian said bending down and giving me a peck. We just got back from the cliff and it was the most fun I have had in awhile.

I started heading back to the pack house when a car came up beside me. It was the Mustang and Wes was driving. "Get in." He said sternly.

"Ah who's the Alpha here!" I said growling. Who does he think he is bossing me around. "Something happens at the pack house." He said looking up at me.

I quickly got into the car and Wes sped off. I didn't have time to ask what happened because we were there in two minutes.

I shut the door and ran into the pack house. Everything was out of place. The couches were across the room. Dishes were smashed all over the floor. Pieces of cupboards and the railing to the stairs were scattered on the floor.

I ran up the stairs to my bedroom. My bed was smashed and my clothes were lying on the floor outside my closet.

I ran to my office. My windows were broke. My desk was in pieces. Paperwork were all over the floor. From this point I was beyond pissed. I ran back to the living room.

"What the hell happened!" I yelled. Ricky stepped forward with a piece of paper in his hands. I looked at him as he gave me the paper. It read:

'Jade

I hope you like what I did to the place. I think it looks better this way. This is a warning. Join me or I'll kill everyone you've ever loved. I'll be at the clearing at midnight on Friday. If you don't show I'll come find you and then kill the one you love the most.

See you soon,

Dampyr.'

I set the paper down. Anger filled my entire body. I crumpled it up and threw it to the ground. I stomped out of the house. I pulled out my cell and called Carsen.

"Hey Jade what's up?" He answered. "Meet me at the cliff." I said through clenching teeth. "Ya ok i'll be there in five." He said and hung up.

I ran to the cliff. I got there in three minutes. Carsen wasn't here yet so I tried to calm myself down. I took a few deep breaths. "The Big Bad Wolf heavy and puffing." Tate.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. "Well I went to the pack house but they said you left so I tracked your scent. Why are you here?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows.

"I was meeting Carsen." I said. His eyes went wide. "Having a secret meeting without Kian knowing, you sly dog." He smirked.

"It's business Tate, just business." I said and just then Carsen appeared from the woods. "So what's this about Jade?" He said walking toward me. Tate put his arm out and stopped Carsen. "That's close enough." He growled.

"Tate it's fine." I said rolling my eyes. He looked at me them took his hand off of Carsen. "So what's this about?" He asked walking the rest of the way toward me.

"Dampyr. He was at the pack house. He trashed it then left a letter. He wants me to join him at midnight on Friday, after graduation." I said.

"Are you gonna join him?" Carsen asked. "I don't have any other choice." I said looking away and fiddling with my fingers.

"Jade there has to be another way. You can't do this." Tate said walking forward. I looked over at him. He had tears in his eyes. "No. There isn't Tate. If I don't go he is going to kill everyone I've ever loved."

"What about mom, dad, Kelli,....Kian. What are they gonna do when they find out you left?" He asked. "They won't know until after I left. You can't tell them anything Tate."

He was about to say something but a howl in the distance cut him off. "Ethan." Tate whispered and he took off running back in the woods.

"Well that was very touching but we need a plan Jade. You can't go with him, he'll turn you into a killer." He said crossing his arms.

"What else am I suppose to do? I can't do anything else. It's over. He won, we lost." I said walking toward the woods. Just when I was about to enter the woods I turned back to Carsen.

"I want you to take over the pack when I'm gone. I know your a beta but it was your pack in the first place." I said and disappeared in the woods.

I grabbed a duffel bag and started putting clothes in it. I made my choice to go with Dampyr. There is no other way. He is too power full for any of us and since Kian is going to college after graduation he won't know I left.

"So it's true." I turn toward the door to see Wes leaning on the doorframe. "Your really going with him." I nod. "Wow. Out of all the people, you were the last one I thought would give up." He said looking down. "I don't know what else to do. I can't beat him. He is to strong."

"I'm coming with." He blurted out. I stand up and stand in front of him. "No. He wants me. You shouldn't have to come with. You shouldn't want to. I'm gonna miss all of you but I'm doing it to save your lives."

"What if he just kills you. After awhile he decides he doesn't need or want you anymore." He said shoving his hands in his pockets. "Better 1 life than a 100." I said and walked back over to my duffel bag.

I finished packing about five minutes later. I walk down stairs to find everyone in the living room. "What's going on?" I ask going to the middle of the crowd. "We were talking about you going with Dampyr." Ricky came up to me from somewhere in the crowd.

"There is nothing we can do. He is to powerful. I'm going with him. End of discussion." I said walking toward the door. "You can't leave." Jared blurted out. I stopped in front of the door and turned around. "We need you."

I closed my eyes and walked out the door. I knew if I would of stayed there I would of changed my mind. I walked toward Kelli's house.

I stood on the otherwise of the front door. Wondering if I'm able to leave everyone behind. Will I be able to leave my mom, dad, Kelli, Harry, my pack, but most of all, will I be able to leave Kian.

I build of all my courage and opened the door. I could smell chicken. I walked to the living room to find Harry watching tv. He noticed me and gave a small smile. I returned a smile.

I walked into the kitchen to see Kelli cooking. Her back was turned to me. I cleared my throat. She snapped her head my way. Her eyes went wide and she had a big grin on her face.

"Oh my god, your here." She hugged me. "Ya." I chuckled."What are you doing here? Did Harry invite you?" She asked pulling away. "No I just thought I'd stop by."

"Well I'm making dinner, you should stay." She said returning to her place behind the counter. "Ya absolutely. I'll go wait with Harry." I said and walked back into the living room.

I sat down on the couch opposite from Harry. I didn't watch tv I sat there fiddling with my fingers. "What are you hiding?" I look up to see Harry looking at me. "Nothing. I lied. "Jade don't lie."

"I'm leaving. After graduation with Dampyr." I said avoiding eye contact."What!" He almost yelled. "Shh." I said putting my finger to my lips. "I don't have a choice. You can't tell anyone. Especially Kian or Kelli."

Just when he was about to say something Kelli came into the room. "Dinners ready." She said with a smile on her face. I looked over at Harry who hasn't taken his eyes off me. This dinner should be interesting.
