I tossed and turned on the uncomfortable ground. I eventually faced the fact that I was never going to find a satisfying position so I gave up. I just laid flat on my back, starring at the ceiling of the cave. I was still upset with Thorin. I hated fighting with him but his attitude toward Bilbo needed to change. I was thinking of the argument that Thorin and I had earlier and I looked over at him. He was sleeping right beside me, though he was coiled away from me. I almost felt sorry that I had told him not to touch me. For now I longed for him to hold me and shield me from the cold. I scooted closer to him and pushed my back to his front. He jumped slightly. I must have startled him but I didn't look back at him. I just positioned his arm to be a pillow for me and he wrapped his other warm arm around me. I smiled to myself and he planted a soft kiss into my hair. I was finally comfortable and just about to doze off when I heard some shuffling from the other side of the cave. I barely lifted my head up to see what the commotion was. It was Bilbo. He was packing his things. He was leaving. Once all of his things were packed, he grabbed his walking still and made for the exit.

"Where do you think you're going?" Bofur was still on watch.

"Back to Rivendell." Bilbo replied.

"No, no., you can't turn back now, eh? You're part of the company. You're one of us." Bofur pleaded.

"I'm not, though, am I?" Bilbo said. "Thorin said I should never have come and he was right." I felt so sorry for the poor hobbit. I know Thorin's words would eventually get to him. I felt Thorin stiffen behind me. I knew he was listening as well. "I'm not a Took, I'm a Baggins. I don't know what I was thinking. I should have never run out my door."

"You're homesick. I understand." said Bofur.

"No, you don't. You don't understand. None of you do. You're dwarves. You're used to this life. To living on the road, never settling in one place, not belonging anywhere!" My breath caught in my throat. Not belonging anywhere... That hurt deeply. I felt Thorin shift a little. The hobbit's words hurt him for a change. Bofur did not reply and Bilbo realized his hurtful words. "Oh, I am sorry. I didn't-"

"No, you're right." Bofur paused. "We don't belong anywhere." A tear slid down my cheek and I sniffed. Thorin held me a little tighter and wiped my tear away. But for a moment, I thought he teared up, too. "I wish you all the luck in the world. I really do." Bofur could never stay upset long, he was such a sweet heart. I watched Bilbo turn to leave. "What's that?" Bofur asked. Bilbo's sheath had begun to glow. He slowly pulled it up. It was glowing a bright blue.

"Thorin, I think we have a problem." I looked back at him and his eyes grew wide. There was a creaking sound coming from beneath us. The sand sank into the floor. The noises grew louder.

"Wake up! Wake up!" Thorin shouted. The floor shifted and before I knew it, we were falling. I screamed and tried to grab hold of anything I could get my hands on. We slid against the walls of a tunnel. I attempted to dig my nails into the side of the walls, but that did more damaged than good. I ripped off a finger nail trying to do so. I screamed in pain and clutched my hand. Then I hit the ground and the other members of the company piled on top of me. I could not breath. "Roslina?" I heard my name being called but the massive weight on my chest prevented me from answering. I could only kick my feet around and hope that someone would see me. "Where is she?" Thorin growled. I kicked some more until I finally hit something. "Get up, you fools!" And the weight was lifted and Thorin lifted me to my feet. "Are you alright?" He asked as he cupped my face in his hands.

"I'm okay." I said breathlessly. Then I heard the horrible laughs and screeches of goblins. I jumped.

"Look out! Look out!" I heard someone shout. Thorin pulled me against him but it was useless. I felt a hand yank at my hair. I resisted but then more hands began to pull at me. I was ripped from Thorin's arms and dragged across the ground. I kicked and screamed trying to get loose, but there were just too many of them
