This is my first story so please be kind! I will update everyday or at least try! I know that there will be grammar issues.  Please comment and let me know what you think

As I clean up the table located directly In front of the diners main entrance, I stare out of the big window directly in front of me. The rain was falling so hard it looked as if it was snowing, but the sound of the rain hitting the metal roof was extremely soothing. The rain was making me feel relaxed almost to the point that I forgot all of my pain and sadness I had been feeling all these years. I had grown up in an environment that no child should have to grow up in. I can't go back to that place in my mind. The pain was too much to bare. It's rainy, gloomy days like this that I fight the memories of my past.
"Kim, you need to hurry with that table! You still have to make fresh coffee, bake a fresh batch of cookies, and place the fresh batch of blueberry muffins out on the counter for the 5 am rush" Melvin yelled, the owner of the diner.
" Yes sir I'm finished with this table.I'm going make coffee now and I'll make the cookies right after. Everything will get done before the rush gets here" I said as I walk behind the counter and place the clean coffee pot under the coffee maker and press the start button. I loved working the morning shift even though I was always tired. I worked from 4:30 am till 10:30 am at Mel's diner and I worked at Tanner's Tavern, a local club, from 7:00 pm-2:00am. I love the morning shift at Mel's because the local retired people come in for coffee and read the newspaper and the business CEOs personal assistants would come in for their bosses morning coffee. I would receive a decent amount of tips on the days I worked the morning shift, but sometimes I work in the kitchen so I only make $ 7.00 an hour.
"Kim! Hurry up in that damn bathroom you have Mr and Mrs Hemming at your table waiting for their coffee and newspaper" Melvin yelled as he banged on the bathroom door.
I give myself one last look in the mirror, wash my hands, and exit the bathroom. I run over to the Hemming 's table grabbing a newspaper near the front door and place it next to them.
" good morning Mr and Mrs Hemming! Nice to see you this morning. I will be right back with your coffee." I said as I smile at the older couple.
" Thank you, Kim and good morning to you as well. I hope your morning is going by just as lovely as our day! I just love rainy days like today... Don't you, Kim?" Mrs Hemming said.
I smile and shook my head in agree as I walked to grab their coffee. I didn't want to disagree with Mrs Hemming. On my way back to the table with their coffee, I started smiling at what I saw. Mr Hemming way had his arm wrapped around his wife giving her a kiss. I could tell that the couple was madly in love with each other even at the age of 91 years old. I wish I could find true love like that I thought to myself as I set their coffee on the table and began serving the rest of the customers. Before I knew it, it was already 8:45 am and I was getting off in less than two hours.
Oh no she's here and right on time i thought to myself.
" hey Kim! How are you today? I will have a French vanilla latte with three shots of espresso and fat free milk. Oh and also please put whip cream on top with a few sprinkles of chocolate on top. And let's not forget the half of a pack of Splenda please. You have no idea the hell I caught last Monday when you forgot the Splenda. I thought Mr Dante was going to fire me so I can't bring him a messed up latte again!" Emily said to me.
Emily was Mr Dante's personal assistant. Every morning she comes in at exactly 8:45 am to get the same latte for him. He is the CEO of Dante Industries which is the United States biggest construction company. His company has built top of the line hotels, Restaurants, and even airports. Seeing how Emily is always rushing and is extremely nervous every time she comes in, I get the idea that he's and real jerk to work for.
"Here you go Emily its fixed exactly how you stated. I'm real sorry if I caused any trouble by not adding the Splenda. I had forgot I was having a rough morning. I sincerely apologize" I told her.
" it's okay Kim I still have my job well for now at least" she says as she laughs and slips a 20 dollar bill in my tip cup. That has been my first tip all morning and I have an hour and a half left.

After serving my last few customers, I clean up the empty tables that are in my section. Grabbing my tip cup I count my tips I made for the morning... 42 dollars.
" MELVIN IM LEAVING!! SEE YOU TOMORROW" I yell as I push the swinging doors open that lead into the kitchen.  Thank god I have a few hours until I have to be at the club I say to myself. After leaving the diner, I head to the small store directly across the street from my apartment. I grab two bottles of water, a Reese's peanut butter cup, and two small bags of Lays Baked Chips. I don't live in the nicest and safest part of town. New York City is an expensive city to live in so I have to live where I can support myself. As I walk inside the apartment complex, I see an older man sitting on the floor drinking a bottle of Jack Daniel. " hey there sexy how much do you charge for fifteen minutes?" He asks.
I keep walking past him trying to ignore Everything that comes out of his mouth. The moans and groans that he is making is starting to disgust me. I stick my key in the lock, kicking the bottom of the door, I turn the key at the same time. This is the only way I can open the front door. I go inside and take a quick shower and after I lay down on the couch to take a nap. The couch wasn't that comfortable and it was the ugliest color and design I have ever seen. The couch was made of light green velvet fabric with bright yellow flowers. I found it at the Salvation Army down the street for only 15 dollars.

Ugh...

I fell asleep on this damn couch and not only does my back hurt from the springs but I only have 20 minutes to get to the club. I put my black shorts on, throw my pink tank top on, slip on my Nike shoes, and pull my hair back in a messy ponytail.
I run out of the apartment and Ran down the steps ignoring the old drunk that started making his creepy and perverted comments once again.
