Keegan Dante POV
"Brian, I need to be at the office early so be here in thirty minutes" I leave a message on my driver's voicemail.
I put on my black pants, a white button up shirt, my black jacket, and put my light blue tie on. I walk downstairs and see Brian already waiting for me in the kitchen. We get into the car and I realize that Emily, my personal assistant, doesn't come to work until 9:00 am.

"Brian, I need you to stop at Mel's Diner. Emily isn't coming in until 9:00 so I need to get my French vanilla latte." I tell Brian.

"Sure no problem sir. I just need you to tell me how you like your latte" he says.
As we pull up to the diner, I see the most beautiful woman standing in the front of the window. I wonder if she's here with someone or if she's alone. She   Is breathtaking. The way the glow of the sunrise is glistening off of her face is memorizing. She has beautiful dark, long, straight, brown hair. She must be 5'2 and maybe 130 pounds. Her hair is hanging down against the side of her face, but I can still see her flawless face. Her tan skin matches her perfectly and then she turns completely in my direction and I see a beautiful set of hazel eyes. Wow she is such a lovely lady.

"Brian wait! I'll go get it. I may have breakfast as well. Would you care to join me?" I ask

"Thank you sir, but I already ate. I will just wait in the car"Brian says.

I walk into the diner and I receive a text message from my mother.

Mother 5:38 am
Good morning my baby boy! Please call me today. I need to find out what dates you are available for family vacation. We need to plan this so make sure you call.

I don't bother to reply because I have to look at my schedule to pick a week that I am free. I hear a ladies voice telling me good morning and to have a seat anywhere I wanted. Her voice sounded very mysterious yet sexy at the same time.
I decide to sit at the front counter, glancing around looking for the beautiful lady I seen standing near the front window. She's standing directly in front of me. She works here.... Wow. A beautiful woman like her shouldn't have to work. She should be shopping or working if she wanted to not because she has to I think to myself.
She brings me a glass of water and places the menu down. I order Belgium waffles, bacon, eggs, and a French vanilla latte.
She tells me that another customer, a lady, orders the exact latte. She must be talking about Emily especially once she said the lady works for a real jerk. I knew right away it was Emily. Emily always did think I was a mean, cold hearted, jerk, but truth be told I'm the opposite. If I didn't care for Emily, I would have been fired her. She is a single mother of three. I ran a background check on her and before I interviewed her, I knew I was going to hire her. She had just lost her husband two months prior to the interview at Dante Industries. Her husband was killed while fighting in the United States Army. He was stationed in Iraq and was killed by a suicide bomber three days before returning home. She has two girls, one boy, and she takes care of her handicap mother. I have a soft spot for Emily; however, I don't show it to her because I want her to stay on top of her work.
I take a bite of the waffles and begin to drink the latte. The latte taste perfect, as always. This beautiful lady must be the one that fixes my latte every morning. While she is busy tending to other customers, I sneak a few glances at her. I just can't believe how beautiful and flawless she is. I notice her name tag says Kimberly. Her name fits her perfect.

When she walks back over here, I'm going to ask her on a date. She walks behind the counter and just when I swallow a sip of water, my phone rings. It's Landon, he's my private investigator. I had sent him Kim's name and where she worked and I wanted him to do a background check for me. I don't know why he's calling because it's obvious what I need him to do.
"Good morning Mr. Dante I received your text message. What exactly do you need and when do you need it by?" He ask.

"I will be at the office in ten minutes. I want to know everything. I need to know her entire background, her childhood, credit report, school files, bank account information, past relationships, her family information, outstanding debt, and anything else you can find and have everything in a file on my desk before I get there" I reply.

I hang up the phone and place two one hundred dollar bills under my plate of food. It isn't much, but that's all the cash I have. I rush out of the diner and get in the car.

"Brian, bring me to the office then you can have the day off. I won't be needing you until tonight around 7. I'm going to dinner with some new clients down the street so be here at 7 exactly" I tell him.

I have to get to the office I have so much work to do, but I have to find out everything I can about Kim.
