Songlist: Off to the races - Lana del Rey, Off to the races - ASTROKRAT Remix 🎶

May 28th, 1966 Los Angeles.

Lana was seating on the white and golden grades in front of the tracks. Wearing her long body con white dress and a big striped hat. Jim grabbed her hand, holding it from around her neck. They both sipped on the black drinks he had ordered a moment ago, but Lana couldn't tell what she was drinking, she just knew it was a very strong liquor of some kind. Jim just liked it better when they were drunk.

The sound of a fire gun being shot rumbled through the arena and the gates opened, letting out seven horses with their riders, who started making their way at light speed through the track. The crowd cheered effusively as Lana felt the pressure of Jim's hand digging into her own, not moving his eyes off the tracks.

Just after a moment, the first round was over, and the auburn-haired horse Jim had bet for, Starlet, finished in third place. The horses went back to the gates and the riders began adjusting the saddles, preparing for the second round. "Riders, five minutes. get set." a voice came out from a speakerphone on the big board that now showed the current places of each rider and his horse.

"You know why I chose that horse?" said Jim with his deep and raspy voice.

"Why?" asked Lana, looking at his cerulean-blue eyes.

"She reminds me of you. Dark-auburn hair and wild personality." Jim said.

Lana smiled and she kissed him on the lips. She couldn't deny the way she felt when she was with him. She felt powerful, important.  It was a something she hadn't felt with any other man she'd ever been with. But there was something she had never felt with Jim though. Safe.

On the other side of the Hollywood Bowl, Jaime walked in her Flower-stamped olive dress towards the white and golden entrance, where a man in tie asked for her invitation. after walking up the steps of the grades, she started to look for the green eyed woman amongst the faces of the crowd, but couldn't find her. Everybody was standing up clapping and cheering for the next round, so Jaime found a seat on the lower grades to watch the race.

After a minute, the crowd ceased applauding as the horses came near the gate one more time and Lana grabbed her set of small binoculars to get a better look. But she wasn't looking at the track, she was looking for the brown-eyed girl she had met two days ago at the Chateau. She spotted her almost right away and smiled to herself.

BANG.

The sound of the gunshot resonated in the Bowl and the horses stomped their way through he doors and around the track once more.

The Race was over moments ago and Starlet had won the first place this round.

"Yes Girl!" Jim shouted proudly and released Lana's hand to clap with the audience. "I need to raise the bet, I'll head inside to the casino and then we'll leave. Care to be alone for a moment." He said and stood up, didn't quite asking Lana if she cared to stay alone for a while.
