Chapter 27: Parents

3rd Person P.O.V

'I can't believe her,' Mai thought, driving back to the factory. 'She went all the way to Japan for a really important reason that totally involves me, but doesn't tell me!' She was still upset with her aunt and wanted to call her to have a talk, but decided against it so they could talk face to face.

James was still by her side, Anthony was in the back, and the rest of the group was in the other car. They all knew not to get her more angry by talking to her, so they played games or texted each other on their phones so they wouldn't disturb her rage into making it direct at them.

Mai parked the car in the parking lot. "I mean, I get why she would go, but why can't she tell me. She went to a prison so she could meet my parent's murderer.

James finally spoke up since it looked like Mai wanted a true answer. "Maybe your aunt went there to do something that included him. What if she wanted to make sure it was safe enough for you to go back and meet the guy so you could question him or something."

Mai thought that what James suggested was true. "I guess, but let's go, if I'm going to back to Japan, then we're going to have to finish this case," she said, then she turned towards Anthony, "but first, I need you to take King back to the hotel."

"What? But it's my day off, you said we could hang out, and. that I get to see your friends work to figure out who the ghosts are," Anthony complained.

She sighed, "Fine," she said, causing Anthony to smile, but that changed when she said, "but, you have to put more gas in my car. If you don't, I'm going to have James drive you all the way to your apartment."

Anthony sighed, "Fine, give me your keys." She handed him the keys and got out of the car with James on the other side. Anthony also got out, but went back in to the driver's side.

Once he took off, James looked to Mai and said, "You just wanted to have him put more gas in your car." She nodded and laughed.

Everyone else in the other car got out and said, "Why is Anthony driving your car Mai?"

"I gave him the mission to put more gas in my car," she answered.

Everyone nodded, "Let's go," Mary said happily. "I want to meet this ghost soon, I hope it helps me become scarier." Everyone shook their head this time for Mary's antics.

"Let's go," this time it was Abbey doing the talking. They all walk into the factory and went into the elevator. "Hey Mai, did you learn who the ghost was yet?"

Mai shook her head no. "I haven't, but SPR thinks it's someone from my past."

"Who do you think it is then?" Mary asked.

"No clue," was the short reply she could give. "Either way," she said as all of them walked out of the elevator. "We'll figure out soon, I'm pretty sure SPR might've found out already."

Trevor decided to question her judgement, "Are you sure about that? How long have they been here for?"

Mary spoke before Mai could answer the questions. "How dare you Trevor! You can't just question Miss Mai's judgement, you must debate gently. For Mai is the almighty goddess."

Mai sweat dropped at that. "Mary, what did I tell you about saying that. Don't call me miss, or goddess. Anyways, SPR has been here for a total of two days."

Trevor didn't pay attention to Mai's answer, but to Mary's insane mind. "You really are insane aren't you, how did you ever get inside this group?" You see, Trevor was one of the last few people to join this beautiful group.
