Maine didn't sleep at all.

The night after their date, Alden's assistant, Tyler, dropped her off to her apartment. Apparently, Alden doesn't drop girls off after dates. After their snack at Patch café, they walked back to his car—not without being followed by civilians and a few paps, of course. Alden took a detour to Supernova Pictures, considering that the paparazzi might follow them if they took the main road. He didn't bid her goodbye; he just left her sitting on the passenger's seat of his car. Maine was still not on the right mind so she went out of the car a couple of minutes after Alden did. She didn't get the chance to follow Alden back to where Jen was; Tyler was already waiting for her inside the car he used to pick her up a few hours back.

When she got home, she thought she could finally do her laundry. But everything she did, everywhere she looked, she was reminded of Alden Richards.

Don't get her wrong. She didn't like Alden. She was not attracted to him, not even in the slightest manner.

Okay.

Maybe she did slightly find his dimple cute. But that's it. She doesn't like him. 

She knew she shouldn't have checked her phone when she got home. Jen reminded her to lay off the social media for a little while. But who was she kidding? She couldn't stay away from the social media even if she tried. She received dozens of text messages from Faye (who asked about how the date went), Kim (who congratulated her), Jade (who sent nothing but a smirking emoji), Tristan (who said they looked genuine) and a few other "friends" she had not spoken to for so long. 

She didn't want to check Twitter, because God knows how cruel Twitter can be. But she did anyway. Her notifications were full of people tagging her to HQ photos of her and Alden walking towards the café. She scrolled through the photos and she would be lying if she said she wasn't impressed. Truly, they looked genuine. They looked like really, really close friends who were happy to spend the day with each other. 

There were a lot of photos—different sources, different angles, different lighting, but the same emotion lingered on all photos: happiness. 

There was a photo of them walking, not too far from Alden's car and a few of when Alden bumped his elbow into her arm to tell her to smile. There were photos of Alden waving to the elderly people who called out his name. Several photos were also taken when they went inside the café.

One photo caught Maine's eyes though. The one with her giggling and Alden was smiling at her. It was when the waitress came to serve their food and Alden pretended to talk to her so she played along.

And for a moment, it seemed genuine.

She read the comments. A lot were "shipping" them already, but there were still a truckload who hated Maine's guts and had already killed her in 72 different ways. One said that Alden looked genuinely happy to be with her, something that happens only once in a while. Another claimed that Alden looked at her so lovingly and questioned her how she was able to remain calm when the Alden Richards was looking at her. A few more said that they've never seen Alden truly happy in public because he never liked the paparazzi. One said that finally, Alden Richards was falling in love and that he deserves to be with someone he truly likes because he has the biggest heart on earth and he is perfect.
