AUGUST 2016
Maine couldn't believe her eyes, because a week ago everything was different.
Seven days ago, when her anger subsided, she thought that she no longer cared about Alden Richards. She stopped lurking around and focused on her recording instead. Six days ago, when they told her that she needed to date him again, she was back at being furious and claimed that she absolutely did not want to work with him again. Five days ago, the star surprised her with a visit at her favorite spot in the building—on the rooftop—and she surprised him with a kick on his moneymaker in return. The days after that, Alden had been visiting her often in Kim's office.
Maine knew that after their heart-to-heart talk in the recording room, everything would change. But she didn't expect the changes to be drastic and huge.
When she walked out of her small apartment, carrying her bag and a box of papers filled with unfinished songs, she did not expect Alden Richards to be standing there, with his back leaned against his luxurious car.
"Anong ginagawa mo dito?" she asked, thanking the heaven above that she didn't drop the box she was carrying.
"Wala man lang good morning, newbie?" he asked and walked towards her. He immediately grabbed the box she was carrying, accidentally brushing his hands on hers.
"I thought you stopped calling me newbie na?" she asked. "And stop it, amin na 'yan, malelate na ako."
"Exactly, malelate ka na. Tara?" he said and gestured to his car. Maine watched as he walked back towards his car and put her things on the backseat of his car.
Alden turned when he noticed she wasn't following him. "Ano na? Tatanga ka na lang diyan?" he joked, making Maine wake up from her trance and walk towards him. He opened the door for her and let her settle in before closing it first.
When Alden had settled himself in as well, Maine mumbled, "Suhol ba 'to?"
He laughed, "Slight."
Maine rolled her eyes and watched as they passed by the houses and busy people trying to get a ride.
"Oh, and by the way," Alden said. "I thought you liked me calling you newbie. Tsaka nasanay ako."
"Ang unfair naman," Maine said, still looking out of the window because she really couldn't stay still when she's close to him. He was too.... Unreal.
