Author's note:

Hello, beautiful people!! This chapter is a bit longer than usual and hopefully, the next chapters will be the same (but with longer time to write, of course). I've been contemplating whether I should separate this particular date into two but then I realized that nothing will go wrong if I merged it into one, right? Sooo, here it is! I hope y'all are patient to read. This has more than 5k words in it, enjoy!! (Also!!! This has a lot of cliché in it so please bare with me! We all secretly like cliché, right? 😉 And a lot of December 5 Kalyeserye feels! Hehehe)

Please don't forget to vote for this chapter and leave your comments! Your lovely comments always motivate me to write better :) Love ya x (twitter: fayebmnglg)

JUNE 2016

Breakfast at McDonald's was rather awkward. Maine chose not to open up the topic about "trying" to be friends with each other for the sake of the publicity stunt. She was too embarrassed for what she did fifteen seconds before the show ended to talk to Alden. She was just loosely holding Alden's hand the whole time they walked to the place. Maine let Alden order their food the comprised of her favorite chicken nuggets and pancakes along with his full breakfast meal. Maine forgot to tell Alden that she didn't drink much coffee so she just hoped Alden got her an iced tea or something. Surprisingly, Alden got her a pineapple juice, which wasn't bad. As long as it wasn't coffee, she thought.

After breakfast, Maine received a text from Kim to ask Alden to drop her off at Supernova Records to listen to the final audio of the song she recorded with Tristan and Jade two weeks before. She really did not want to interact with Alden so she just told him she'd call a cab when they get to where he was supposedly headed to that morning. But then Alden, who was rather persistent with showing the public that they were together (although it was only ten in the morning—paparazzis aren't on the go during such time, especially when it was forty degrees outside), insisted that he should just drop her at Supernova Records for emergency purposes. Maine protested as usual (they're bickering never stops) but Alden claimed that she should just follow what I say because I'm the one who knows better. She was offended, but then again, it was the Alden Richards who said that. Who was she to be offended? She was supposed to be privileged, right? Maine rolled her eyes at the thought.

The next day, they had to leave early in the morning for a date in the famous Enchanted Kingdom. Jen and Kim decided that they should go, along with a few members of their team as well, but in a different car and not with Maine and Alden.

The team took a van to go there while Maine traveled with Alden using his oh so famous and luxurious car that she had been recently accustomed with. It was rather awkward.

After yesterday, Maine expected everything to be awkward and tense and so much worse.

During their trip to Laguna, Maine expected the whole two hours of driving to be dreadful and boring and tense and awkward and... the list can go on. She was at the point when she was basically giving up on the idea of being friends with the Alden Richards, or at least be acquaintances; that would have been better rather than juts being total strangers who are forced to be together. But then, you know what they say, some things happens when we least expect them.

"So," he started, making Maine look at him suspiciously. "I was thinking about what you said yesterday."

"And?" she asked, a little too confident. Sometimes she forgets he's a monster hiding under that beautiful, perfect person.
