10. YOU REMEMBERED

Dear Ashton,

I never expected that you would actually return the pen you borrowed from me a few weeks ago. I didn't really think you would remember since I wasn't anyone really significant. I was just that person who sits two seats to your left in History class.

I don't think you know just how hard my heart hammered against my chest when you gave me such a tender smile before holding out the pen you once borrowed from me during class. I don't think you know just how that small event affected me, it was literally all I could think about until I went home and I'm pretty sure that I was blushing like mad when I came home, replaying the events over and over in my head once more.

Despite the fact that it took you a while to return my pen, I'm very happy. I'm happy because you actually remembered that you borrowed something from me, and you actually cared enough to return something as small as a pen. Even if it was for a little while, I managed to cross your mind. Even if it was only for this reason, I don't mind.

You actually thought about me, and you actually remembered.
