Your confidence
Hebrews 10:35 ''cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward,''
How strong is an elephant's tusk? Very strong in fact it is so strong it could swing a helicopter or even an aeroplane out of control if it held on to the rope.
The question to ask is how strong is your confidence? Your confidence is strong enough to conquer the world and subdue your fears. Confidence is the most beautiful trait a person can have and it inspires others to feel better about themselves.
I know sometimes we may not feel pretty or handsome on some days and we feel out of it all down, depressed and not worth it. We feel like we don't look good enough, but we must love who we are despite the difference in weight, features, skin color, ethnicity because beauty is not one model that everyone is measured along No! Instead beauty is something that everyone has and can obtain. We can't only love ourselves on the good days that's like only loving your children when they are obedient, we must accept ourselves for who we are with the hope of who we have the ability to become.
There is a statement my mom use to say when I felt embarrassed of wearing something that was ugly or out of style. ''we can make anything look good.'' This statement has really deep meaning that can be related to everything. For example: I went to the supermarket to pick up some cardboard boxes for a religious education project.
When I collected the boxes they were enormous and they could barely fit in my hands. I felt so humiliated walking around the town with these gigantic boxes in my hands. Not to mention my schoolmates were looking and laughing and I felt really embarrassed.
However, I remembered the statement my mother always told me and with that I held my head high and started walking with style and confidence. Before I knew it I was fine people stopped ridiculing and pointing and instead just minded their own business. Some of my schoolmates even greeted me and offered to help. So you see how your confidence also plays a role in how people treat you. Once you accept your flaws people can no longer insult you on them because they are no longer faults in your eyes, but a part of who you are. That was a prime example. Use it when you are verbally, physically, emotionally and even socially embarrassed.
Have you ever been somewhere and you see someone biting their nails and there head is down and they don't talk much? Well if and when you see someone like that you always wonder what is wrong right? Also sometimes if you ask them they say everything is alright. Those are one of the main signs of lack of Confidence or anxiety and nervousness most commonly low self-esteem. So try to be conscious of your behavioural pattern in public.
Do you have that problem? Well I bite my nails sometimes and I get a lot of negative attention the little time I bite my nails. You might think you have good confidence; but you will never know until you see your reaction when someone insults you and you feel embarrassed.
Train yourself to have confidence and remember you can make anything look good. There is a special key that opens the door to your confidence, God has it, this key. It is acceptance, because there is no way you can have confidence if you don't accept yourself for who you are. Accept yourself and portray confidence. You can do it I believe you can!
