I woke up to the sound of my alarm. Today was my last day in England, my last day in a small village, no noise, no traffic, no people, just the sound of the birds outside my window. I take one last look out of my bedroom window, you can see miles and miles of forest and fields. I make my way downstairs, I already packed last night and I had to be at the air port for 3:30 pm and it was 9:00 so I had loads of time. My mum wasn't up already, I peek my head round her door, to see her sleeping peacefully. Me and my mum were very close, since my father left us and Alex was hardly ever at home it was just me and her, that's the way I liked it, but that would soon change. I really didn't want to go to my aunts. I've met her like 3 times and I'm moving far away from my family (my mum). My mum, Alex, my aunt Tess and my cousin April and Tom was the only family I have. The reason I'm moving in with my aunt is because my mum works in an architecture company thing and they have to go to Rome for 9 months. I insisted on staying at home but she wasn't happy with me on my own for that long as I am only 16. Any way, i finished off packing the rest of my things, by this point my mother had woken and was down stairs making pancakes, as she knows I love her home made ones. She literally makes the best pancakes, I'm gonna miss them. As much as I wanted to spend as much time with my mum as possible before I go, I figured I better say bye to my best friends, Katelyn, Sam and Oliver, we had been best friends since nursery and I'm now leaving them for 9 months.
I decide to tell Katelyn and Oliver first ( they are twins so they obviously lived together) I guessed I could kill two birds with one stone. I knock on their door, I normally just walk in as there mum and dad is pretty much family put this time it didn't feel right. After minutes the door opened to reveal Kate (their mum) "hi Autumn come on in" she said whilst opening the door signalling me to go in. "Thanks Kate" I say smiling at her. "They're upstairs" she said, knowing I was probably looking for them. "Actually, would it be ok if they come down here, I wanted to say goodbye to you all" I say giving a weak smile. "Oh of course your leaving to go to America today, I'll just call them... KATELYN, OLIVER, AUTUMNS HERE TO SAY GOODBYE!!" She shoutes up the stairs. They both slowly come walking down, their heads hanged low, when I told them that I was leaving they didn't take it very well, we've all been dreading this moment. Both of them just stand there, tears fill their eyes, I walk over to them, wiping the fallen tears from their cheeks. "Like I said it's only temporary, I'll be back before you know I-" And I couldn't finish my sentence. "9 months!" Katelyn snapped. Cutting me off. "What are we supposed to do whilst your gone?" Oliver questioned me. "You've got each other and Sam, and we will face time and call each other everyday, I promise." I say giving a weak smile. Then before I knew it both off them at jumped on me causing me to fall back wards. We were sat on the floor hugging for what seemed like hours, until we finally separated. "I'm gonna miss you so much" Katelyn whimpers. "I'm gonna miss you too." I say, pulling her into another hug, even though I am very good friends with Oliver, me and katelyn just have this girl instinct which make us slightly closer. "Don't forget about us when your making new friends" Oliver mumbles, I knew he didn't mean it in nasty way. "Are you for real, you guys are my bestfriends, your family! How could I forget about you, your all I will ever think about" I cry. I also pull Oliver into another long hug, until I move on to their mum. "I cant thank you enough for all you and your husband have done for me, I'm gonna miss my un biological mother" I whimp, I'm surprised she even heard me as my face was buried her chest. "Goodbye darling, I'm gonna miss my un biological daughter too" she laughs. I wave goodbye to their dad, as much as i love him, he's always working so I don't see him as often as Kate. I give my final goodbye before walking out the door.
I walk down to sams house which is only down the road, we all live pretty close together. Again I knock on the door and it finally opens, I don't say anything I just jump into his arms, Sam is like a brother to me, it's like he replaces Alex while he's gone, and I will probably miss him the most. I just cry into his chest, even though we don't go out I feel like he protects me and I feel safe when I'm with him. One of us finally speaks as we pull away from the hug. "So I guess that's it then your going" Sam says, his head hanging. " before you know it, I'll be back again" I explain. "It's not like it's forever" I say. "9 months, 9 months with out seeing your beautiful smile, whenever I'm sad all I have to do is look at you, and I feel happy again" he sniffles. I don't say anything, I just attach my lips to his, I don't know whether that was a smart move, but I feel like I should have done that a long time ago, when I feel him kiss back, I relax. We pull away and I say goodbye for the last time. "Goodbye Sam" I whimper. "Bye Autumn" he whimpers back, I turn around and hear the door shut. I instantly break down in tears.
