It had been 2 weeks since the incident happened with Ryder and Marcus. I haven't spoke to Ryder since, I have seen him since, he's tried apologising and he's turned up to the door a couple of times, he tried ringing me, he's also left flowers and cards. Like I said I've seen home since when we've had like group hangouts and stuff and he's been there. I knew I couldn't blank him out forever. I really wanted to accept his apology, maybe I am taking his a bit too far, but he shouldn't have done what he did, it was out of order. I then heard a knock on my bedroom door. It was Tom, "hey, am I interrupting?" He smiled, peering his face around the door. "No don't be silly" I smiled back, patting the spot next to me on my bed. He came and sat next to me. "If you're wanting me to help you with your homework again you will have to find your own pen" I chuckle. "Ha ha ha, very funny" he says in a sarcastic way. "Sorry go ahead" I say pretending to wipe a tear away from my eye. "Well I've noticed you haven't been yourself recently, so I wondered if I could take you to that diner you love me to take you to?" I wasn't in the mood for going out in public, I've only really left the house to go to school. But I figured it would do me some good. "Yeah just give me a sec" I smile. I grab my purse and slip my converse on.
It was only a 10 minute walk down the road. "Hey tom, can I ask you something" I asked. "Yeah sure, go ahead" he smiled. I took a deep breathe and began my sentence. "If someone you love did some thing bad, but they kept apologising, would you accept it?" I quizzed. "It depends what they did" he replied. "Say they, nearly beat their brother to death in front of you?" I assured him. "Is this about Ryder?" He said looking down at me. I looked up, as he is taller than me, tears formed in my eyes. "Yes" I nodded. He then pulled me into a hug. "Listen, things are a little rocky at the moment I get it, but I promise things will get better, if you ever need anyone to talk to I'm always here" he said rubbing my back, that's probably the right words I needed to hear right now. We then carried on our journey to the diner. I order the regular, double decker burger, with fries and a 'shake' (a milkshake). I reached in to my purse and grabbed some money out. "Hey, dinners on me" Tom smiled. "You sure?" I asked. "Yes" he chuckled. "Thankyou for this" I smile. "That's what family's for" he smiles back. I kinda forgot he was my cousin, I seem him more like a Bestfriend, and April for that matter. After food we headed back home.
I made my way up to my room, I had 3 miss calls from Sam, Oliver and katelyn, and my mum, I know this sounds bad but I've forgot the guys back home, apart from my mother of course, I call katelyn and Oliver back first. I sit there waiting impatiently for the phone to answer, I really did miss them though, don't get my wrong I adore all my friends in America, but the guys back home have always been family. Then the phone answers. "Hello?" A voice calls. "Katelyn?" I reply. "AUTUMN?!" She screams down the phone. "OMG HI" I scream back, I could tell she was crying by the sound of her voice, which then made me tear up as well. "Where's Oliver?" I ask. "Oh he's at his girlfriends" she told me. Girlfriend?! "He has a girlfriend?!" I excitedly shout down the phone, Oliver has only ever had 1 girlfriend in his whole life, which is strange because he's quite good looking. We both carry on screaming down the phone to each other, both catching up on what we've missed out on each others lives, after over an hour of gossiping and talking, we finally said put goodbyes. Then I decided to call Sam, I forgot all about mine and SAMs kiss, if he ever found out about Ryder and I, he would fall out with me, for good this time. I again ring the phone waiting for it to answer, "hello" a voice slurred down the phone, he almost sounded drunk, no he couldn't? "Hey, it's me Autumn" I confusingly say, "oh hey baby" she laughed down the Phoenix, "are you drunk?" I ask, sounding concerned, well I am concerned, the only time he's gotten drunk is when we all sneaked into katelyn and Oliver's dads alcohol cupboard and took a bottle of whiskey. " so what if i am, it doesn't concern you, your too busy with your perfect life in America, with your perfect family, and your perfect friends, and your perfect boyfriend" he stammered down the phone. "Do you know what, call me back when your sober, I don't want to speak to this Sam, I want the old Sam, the better Sam" I raise my voice slightly. "Whatever" he scoffed down the phone, and then ended it. What the hell is wrong with him? I've been away just over 2 months and already things have changed Bach at home, I feared this would make me want to go back home. I wasn't in the mood for calling my mum back, I was too upset to even speak, I just burry myself into my covers and slowly drift off to sleep.
