2 months later...
Things were great, now. Justin hadn't bothered us. Mitch had settled in well and there was no longer any bad blood between any of us. Scott and I's relationship was flourishing. I was finally at a point in my life where I could say, I was satisfied with my life. Everything was amazing now.
I had spent the day looking through my memory box again. Just reminiscing on all those times in my life that I felt like I did in this moment. Pictures from when I was a newborn up until now.
I picked up a diary from when I was 17. I opened it up and the first date to come up was my 17th birthday. It read:
Dear Diary,
It's been a while since I've written anything in you. I have so many problems I'd like to share with you. I have no one anymore. Mom is gone. I still miss her but she's with her own kind, the angels. Dad unfortunately left last week. The pain of knowing he is gone, breaks my heart. I'm going to be the only one at his funeral because I can't get in contact with anyone else. It's my birthday and I'm not even celebrating. I mean I guess I could myself a cake but I mean it's not really a celebration with other people besides myself. The only person, besides my parents, that I wish was here is Scott. It's been a year since he's gone and I miss my friend. In the scenario I'm in, I just want my friend back.
Life was great now and there was no denying that. But what would make it better was if my parents were still here.
I laid in my bed just looking at a picture of both of them. They were so beautiful inside and out. Tears were falling as remembered when they were always there, always supporting me. I wish they were here.
I heard my room door open. "Oh, Avi, are you ok?" I heard Scott as rushed to my side. He noticed the picture I was holding and hugged me.
"I-I miss them so much, Scott" I whispered as my breathing was very irregular. He joined me on the bed and wrapped his arms around me. Him doing that, really helped me. I began to slowly calm down. "I just want to know what they think of their son"
"I can tell you what they think. They think he's matured into a respectable young man. They think that he is a strong person because he's made it this far. They are proud of you for making the right decisions." I could feel a huge smile creep up on my face. He knew how to make me feel better. "And you want to know what I think?" He asked.
"What do you think?" I replied. He hugged me a little tighter and snuggled his head in my neck.
"I think you are a beautiful rarity and I'm so lucky to have you in my life because you've made everything better" He spoke so dearly. "I love you, Avriel"
"I love you, Scott" I responded as I kissed him on the cheek. He was one of the best things that had happened to me in my entire life and I loved him more than ever.
