Scott POV

I woke later in the day but Avi was still asleep. I was still a little confused about what had happened in the middle of the night. Avi woke up and asked me to make a promise to him. I didn't really think too much too much of it though because it did make sense for me to promise him. When we were kids, I did promise we would grow up together and I did break that promise so guess he needed to hear it from me now even though I do not plan on leaving him.

We had spent the day just watching movies. Rom-coms, horror. You name it, we watched it. It's all we could really do due to Avi's condition. He couldn't really do much so we snuggled up to each other and  watched. I just wanted Avi to feel comfortable so why not.

The day reached it's ending, Avi went to the bathroom to go vomit as the doctor said he would be doing a lot of. As he was in the bathroom, his phone rang. I took it upon myself to pick it up. The number wasn't saved in his phone. "Hello?" I responded.

"Avi?" An unfamiliar female's voice came through the phone.

"Avi's busy right now, who is this?" I asked slightly confused.

"I'm Esther" She informed me. Was this Avi's sister?

"W-Well I will tell him when he-" I started. Avi came out the bathroom which interrupted my speech. "Give me a second" I told her. "Avi. There's someone on the phone for you"

He took the phone from me and held it to his ear. After a small while Avi whispered "Esther?". He looked at me and then ran into another room, slamming door behind him.

I stared at the door in confusion. I wanted to go in the room he went in but I wanted to give him space.

About half an hour of waiting, Avi came out of the room. He had dried tear stains on his face and he looked a little weak. "Are you ok?" I asked standing up to walk towards him.

"T-That was my sister" He sniffled. "You know, the one who I haven't seen in 12 years"  He spoke sarcastically.

"Oh, Avi" I wrapped him in a hug and he cried into my shoulder. "What did she say?"

"She's getting married and wants me at her wedding in New York" He informed me sniffling.

"Ok, so let's go. When's the wedding?" I smiled at him but he didn't reciprocate the emotion.

"She only wants me, Scott" He told me. I could feel my heart drop at what he said.

"Oh. W-Well when are you going? How long are you there?" I asked trying to hide my sadness.

"In 3 days. I'll be there a week" He whispered.

"Well....it's all to see your sister...I guess I could wait a week for you" I laughed sadly.

I didn't want to have Avi leave but he needed to be with his sister so that they could be together after such a long period of time. I would just heave to try to keep myself company.
