song for the chapter: let love bleed red - sleeping with sirens.

"when you dream of me tonight, am i close to where you are?"

buzz buzz buzz

"okay who the fuck is calling me at three am?" i said out loud to myself, i was still slightly agitated and sad about me and madelyn's last argument.

when i picked up me phone, i didn't recognize the number.

my first thought was maybe madelyn was in trouble, calling me from a pay phone or something. even if we weren't on the best terms, i would still drop everything and go help her no matter how tired i was.

"hello?" i asked, my voice groggy.

"tyler!" i heard josh shriek from the other end, i winced at the loudness of his voice.

"huh? what?" confusion and disappointment laced in my voice.

"will you come bail me out?" he asked, voice slurred.

"from where?"

"i'm at the police station, by madelyn's house." he told me, giggling slightly.

"w-why are you near there?" concern started growing inside me.

"i beat up her up, duh, she called 911 and stuff but long story short she's in the emergency room."

"josh! what the fuck is wrong with you? i absolutely will not bail you out. goodbye, psycho." i screamed as i hung up.

i ran outside, the cold wing blew against my hot face. i was beyond angry .

madelyn, she's in the emergency room. shit.

i didn't have a car, but i knew someone who did.

i started speeding to madelyn's apartment. tears formed in my eyes from the wind blowing across my face so fast. my feet ached every time they hit the hard pavement below me, people were giving me strange looks, it probably wasn't a good idea to be running around new york at such an hour.

i reached the apartment in seven minutes, i didn't know i was capable of running so fast.

i looked at the parking lot and was able to spot madelyn's car in seconds, i jogged over to it, panting heavily from being out of breath.

i opened the door, and sighed in relief once i noticed that it was unlocked and the keys were inside. probably not the best idea to leave your car unlocked, but it worked out for me.

legally, i wasn't allowed to drive. i didn't have a license, but I did have my permit and knew a thing or two so i was just praying that all would go well.

i put the keys in the car and turned on the ignition. i made sure to buckle my seatbelt, because i didn't feel like dying right now, and pressed my foot down on drive and slowly made my way out the parking lot and onto the street.

not going to lie, it was a bit difficult to get to the hospital, even at three am there was still a bunch of traffic.

once i finally arrived at the hospital, i parked my car and sprinted into the building. i cringed as the familiar smell filled my nose.
