"Erik, if you do not behave yourself, I will not allow you to read any Poe for a week."  I threatened, straighting Erik's jacket.  He rolled his eyes and my eyebrows shot up.  "Do you want to roll your eyes at me one more time, or do you want me to just shave them off for you?"  I asked in a menacing tone.  He chuckled softly.  "Are your motherly instincts kicking in already?"  He asked jokingly.  I couldn't help but smile.  "I'm dead serious, Erik.  Meg will be heartbroken if you run Luke off."  I said flatly.  He grabbed me by the arm as I turned to walk away and pulled me to him.  "I promise to behave."  He whispered before kissing the nape of my neck.

An excited knock on the door made Erik stop and pull away.  I sighed and went to answer it.  Meg stood, nervously wringing her hands and biting her lip.  "Meg, what is the matter?"  I asked.  She shook her head and gave me a small, nervous smile.  "Nothing, I am just nervous, that is all."  She chirped.  I rolled my eyes and opened the door for her to enter.  She walked in and flopped onto the bed as if it were her own.  Erik stood, shirt half open, exposing his chest, dumbfounded.  I rushed over to him and covered up his half bare chest with the nearest article of clothing; my discarded nightgown.  "Meg, do not look!"  I yelled.  She covered her eyes and turned away quickly.  I ushered the speechless Erik into the water room and helped him put on his shirt.  "Erik!  Why did you just stop, and not try to cover yourself?"  I scolded.  He only shook his head.  "I was just caught by surprise, and my mind went blank."  He muttered.

My eyes again rolled and I shook my head at him as I walked back into the bedroom, making sure to close the door behind me.  "I am sorry, Meg.  He got caught off guard."  I apologized, sitting on the bed next to Meg.  She giggled.  "No, no, it was really quite funny."  She said with a wave of her hand.  I laughed and raised my eyebrows.  "So, why are you so jumpy, tonight?"  I asked.  Her smile faded and she looked at her hands.  "I just hope that he does not think that we are a weird family, and gets scared off.  I love you and Erik, but we are a little different from the normal family, I think."  She gushed out, her cheeks red and her eyelashes fluttering in shame.

I grabbed her hand.  "If Luke really loves you, he will accept your strange family.  I know that Erik wears a mask, but other than that we are fairly normal.  Just do not be scared that he will not like us, because we really do not care if he does or not.  All that matters is that he loves you, my dear."  I whispered, stroking a piece of hair back from her face.  She smiled softly and stood.  "Come, you must help me dress."  She ordered gently.  I smiled and followed her into her room.

"Meg, you look stunning!"  I exclaimed, raising my hands to my head in sheer amazement.  I never knew she could look so beautiful!  Her dress was a soft white, and the lace layers flowed down her legs wonderfully.  The sleeves were long, and ruffles lined the end, making her look like a princess.  Her hair was curled and cascaded down her shoulders, and a small diamond pendant decorated her neck.  She smiled broadly and turned around to look in the mirror, which upon inspection, made her gasp.  "Christine....I have never looked so amazing in my life!"  She whispered with a hand over her mouth in shock.  "Darling, he would be insane to ever be unkind to you or your family with you in this dress."  I giggled.

She smiled brightly and waved her hand.  "Go, go to Erik.  He needs your help dressing as well, I suppose."  She said in one breath.  I smiled and strode out, preparing to dress myself and Erik.

Erik sat on the bed, straightining out his cravat and muttering to himself.  "Are you speaking to yourself, or Lucy, the little ghost girl?"  I asked playfully, while I walked in.  He looked up, startled to see me and chuckled.  "Is it not obvious?  I'm speaking to Lucy!  Did you know that she died trying to climb to the roof, and fell, breaking her neck?  Now her head is just limp, and it hangs there as if it's going to fall off any secound....."  He joked.  I interrupted his imaginative story my putting my hands over my ears.  "Erik!  That is repulsive.  Stop it!"  I cried out.  He laughed and stood up to embrace me.
