I woke up to someone poking me in the shoulder; I groaned thinking back to when my mum used to wake me up for school. I hated the thought of having to get up. I swatted the air.

“Leave me alone!” I said trying to wrap myself tighter in the duvet.

“Becks wake up! There’s something I want to show you!” I heard Liam say in a cheerful tone.

I unravelled myself a little and opened one eye to look at him. “What? Why?” I said groggily.

He smiled at me. “Come on I guarantee you will like it!”

“How do you know that?” I said sceptically.

“I just know you will! Seriously you’ll kick yourself when you find out what I want to do!”

“What?” I said looking at him, wondering what the hell he was on about.

“For god’s sake just get out of bed woman!” He said yanking the duvet away from me. I laughed trying to pull it back over me. “No!” I shouted.

Finally he grabbed my feet and pulled me towards him, me clinging to the bed trying desperately to hold on. Eventually I gave in and let him pull me up into a hug and kissing me.

“Becks! Come on we’re gonna miss it!” He said pulled away from the kiss.

I leaned forward trying to kiss him again put he moved backwards and grinned knowing that he had stopped me. Why was he being so mean? I looked at the clock five o’clock! Why was he getting me up at five o’clock? It’s weekend! And I should be resting in bed; otherwise I’ll have a hangover.

“Liam its five o’clock! You’ve got to be kidding me!” I said lying back on the bed.

“Becks! Get up!” He sighed and opened one of the draws and pulled out my denim shorts and lifted my legs up pulling them on to me. I wriggled around as much as I could stop him from doing so; partly because I didn’t want to get up and the other part because I wanted to be as awkward as possible just because he had gotten me up in the first place.

“Becks? You gonna come or not?” He said looking at me with those gorgeous green- brown eyes pleading with me. I groaned, knowing that there was no way that I could give in to him. He always had this ability to bribe me into anything just by looking at me in his own unique way.

“Okay!” I droned. “This better be good Liam!”

His face lit up when I agreed to go wherever he was taking me. “Seriously you’ll like it! Honestly I know you will! But we’re gonna have to be quick!” He said lifting me up off the bed and on to my feet as though I was weightless.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me down the stairs and to the front door where we both got our trainers on. I couldn’t help but wonder where he was taking me. I was pretty sure we were heading towards the beach.

When we took a left and crossed the road I was certain that we were heading to the beach. But why were we going to the beach? And at this time in the morning? We walked across the sandy beach and behind a cluster of rocks I could see a rug placed down on the sand and a bottle of what looked like champagne and two flute glasses.

Liam laughed when he caught a glimpse of my confused face as I sat down beside him on the rug.

“Liam wh-“

“Shh!” He said putting his index finger on my lips to stop me from talking.

“Becks...I’ve been thinking about this for ages now and you know I’m not good with words and all but I’m gonna give it my best shot,” What was he on about I thought to myself? I was trying to think what this could possibly all be for although I was that tired from last night’s partying that I couldn’t hardly even remember my own name.
