I was just walking past the doorway that led to the second floor rooms and I could see Jake coming out of Halley’s room. I smiled. I should’ve guessed really with them both being missing. I started to walk towards the next part of the stairs but I decided to go back. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to wind them both up. Jake had done it so many times before to me that this was well deserved payback. I pushed open the door.

“Well, well, well. What do we have here?”

Jake turned round to reveal Halley standing with just a bed sheet wrapped round her. They both looked at me really guilty and I could see that Jake’s cheeks were beginning to flush pink. I laughed. Revenge was sweet.

“No guesses as to what you two were up to last night!” I said laughing.

“No...Cassie certainly picked the best stripper anyways!” Halley giggled.

“Halley!” I exclaimed; shocked by what she had just said.

“Right...well...I’ll be-“Halley said waving her finger around pointing into her room still giggling a little. Jake nodded “Bye!” He said as she shut the door.

“Well Jake tut tut! Leaving your best friend alone on his stag do! Dreadful. You know he was looking for you all of last night?”

“Well you know why I couldn’t stay out with him!”

“Yeah I know! And by the sounds of it so does Halley!” I laughed. He nudged me in the ribs. “Payback Jakey, payback!”

“Yeah, yeah whatever!” He said pushing on the door to his room and then sighing.

“What’s the matter?” I said confused why he wasn’t going into his room.

“I’ve not got the key on me. I must have left it in Halley’s room and Liam’s got the other one.” He said patting his pockets, looking for the key card.

The door suddenly opened Liam appeared on the other side. “Oh hey man!” He said grasping Jake’s hand and doing one of their little handshakes. “Where the hell have you been? I was looking for you like all of last night!” He said stepping back to hear Jake’s answer. Jake mumbled in an uneasy panic trying to find the perfect excuse. Liam was beginning to looked confused so Jake looked over at me in desperation. A smile formed at the edges of my mouth as I struggled to hold in a laugh.

“Well let’s just say it begins in H and ends in Y!” Disbelieved, Jake snapped his head back at me.

“Why the hell did you go and tell him!”

“Well either you or her would have let it slip at some point and the lads would have never let you live it down!”

Jake sighed not wanting to let himself agree with me but he knew I was right. We both knew the gang to well to know that they would not let such an opportunity to down; so really I was saving him by telling Liam now.

“I should have guessed shouldn’t I?” Liam said rolling his eyes and stepping aside a little to let Jake into the room. Half way in through the small corridor leading into the room, Jake stopped and looked around at Liam with a cheeky grin spread across his face.

“So what did you get up to last night without me?” Jake said in an attempt to land Liam in the same embarrassment that I had just caused him.

“Um...um....”

I scoffed and folded my arms. “So what did you get up to mister? Thought you said you just came back here!” I looked up at the ceiling trying to remember the exact words he had used. “Thought you were ‘tired’ and ‘couldn’t be bothered to back out after looking for Jake’?” I said cocking an eyebrow.
