She climbed down the side of the bed as I gently helped her into a wheelchair.

"There we go," I said as she adjusted herself.

I pushed her out of her room.

Jenna, her nurse, frowned at me but didn't say a word.

I pressed the lift button and noticed Zann glancing at me.

"What's on at school?" she asked.

I blinked. This was unexpected.

"Umm, homework. They're prepping us for the mid-years." I fumbled for an answer, but this was the best I could come up with.

What was I supposed to tell her?

That everyone in school had gone crazy because she was hurt and she was Miss Popular? That -I'm quoting her- her best friend Matthew was a wreck as he was worried about her?

I forced a pained smile on my face and those intelligent eyes sharpened.

"You're hiding something, aren't you?" Zann asked softly.

I shook my head.

"It's nothing. Don't worry about me. Focus on your rehab."

She immediately started singing Amy Winehouse's 'Rehab' and I stifled a laugh.

She was quite literal.

I made a face and she pouted at me.

Yep, it was this legendary pout that got guys swooning over her.

The lift arrived and I wheeled her in.

We absorbed the silence in the lift as it made its way to the ground floor.

"Matt." Zann said.

"Huh?" I replied.

"Do you think Javier's cheating on me?" she asked.

I froze.

What am I going to do now? Tell the truth and risk the wrath of Jav? Or risk Zann being hurt?
