After that first slice, I was full. I wasn't really hungry but debated o grabbing one more slice.

Or two.

Maybe three?

Nah, I don't want to seem like a glutton in front of Zann.

I threw my plate away and glanced at Di.

"So... what's up next?" I asked. The night had been interesting. She smirked and crooked a thumb at Gwen and Javier.

The air was really awkward between them. Gwen was trying to start a conversation but Javier waved her away and trotted over to Claire.

He wasn't really trotting like a pig. It was just that... I didn't know what Zann saw in him that made him so, and I quote, 'worthy' of her. Anyway, Jave was a little bit round, but not as round as a soccer ball.

And, to add on to that, he was a little bit too heavy for her.

If you get me.

You know, weight issues?

Zann was chatting with Janice. I smiled to myself as I watched them. It was nice to see her happy.

Just then, Claris pounced on me. "Ma-attt," she moaned.

I winced. She was... nice, and she liked Justin. She was very good at breaking up relationships, and had made it her mission to break up Justin and Yvonne's.

I felt sorry for Yvonne.

But then again, those two girls hated Zann.

I certainly do not plan to tell her that I was onto Zann.

"Yeah, what?" I asked.

"Come with me," she chuckled and hiccuped. I think she was tipsy from some champagne Justin had snuck in.

"No, go back, Claris," I said, trying not to let my disgust of her overrule my thoughts.

"Come on," she said, and stumbled.

I sighed.

She was a liar, and a backstabber. I hate her.

"No is no. Get away." I remarked.

She frowned.

Zann moved over.

"Hey, Matthew, you okay?" she asked, while glancing at a tipsy Claris. She wrinkled her nose.

"Yeah. Of course Matt's okay. He's with me..." Claris the tipsy slurred.

"Look, Claris, stop the act, go on your own," Zann commented. She turned to me.

"Thanks for organising this. I owe you." she said.

"No problem. I'm your-the- man when you need me." I said.

She smiled, and a little pink came into her cheeks.

I hope it was me, and not the heat which made her pink.
